Paper or film? Thanks to KHS’ new conversion option, both are possible. With our conversion options for KHS packaging machines film can be supplemented or replaced by paper as secondary packaging with the PaperWrap, where a simple paper wrapper is attached round the pack, or the PaperPack, where packs are fully enclosed in paper. The paper wrapping function can be retrofitted on all KHS packaging machines in the Advanced series, such as the Tray Shrink Packer (TSP) and Wrap Around Shrink Packer (WSP).
The film wrapping module is replaced in a subsequent retrofit of the machine. For the PaperPack variant the shrink tunnel is also either replaced by the paper folding and gluing module or this module is added to the machinery, enabling operators to flexibly switch between film and paper. The short conversion time allows production to be resumed very quickly indeed. Furthermore, the new conversion option is convincing with its flexibility, low cost of investment and of course its sustainable character.
