thank you for conversion math still like to understand how can get an answer 7/8 inch into centimeter
@TheLinearCircle
@TheLinearCircle 4 года назад
Turn into a decimal. If 2.54 cm = 1 inch, then 7/8 of an inch is equal to how many centimeters? 1st. Turn 7/8 inch into a decimal...7 divided by 8 = .875 inch 2nd. Multiply into our coversion factor (2.54 cm) to convert to centimeters. 0.875 inch x 2.54 cm = 2.2225 cm

@icarrus4u
@icarrus4u 10 лет назад
PROBLEM. Was the 2.54 cm conversion factor already given to you in the problem, How do you figure those out EX: 6.6cm = how many mm?
@TheLinearCircle
@TheLinearCircle 10 лет назад
Just move the decimal over one space to the right. 6.6cm are 66.0mm
@icarrus4u
@icarrus4u 10 лет назад
Uncle Bryce But why?
@icarrus4u
@icarrus4u 10 лет назад
Uncle Bryce Yeah that's fine and dandy BUT it doesn't help me figure out why you went right and not left to figure this out... is it because mm is less than cm on the Metric System?

Problem: 26ft equals _____yd_____ft
@TheLinearCircle
@TheLinearCircle 9 лет назад
26 feet x (1 Yard / 3 feet) = 8.66666667 yards
@TheLinearCircle
@TheLinearCircle 8 лет назад
+Uncle Bryce Sorry for late reply. 8 yards and 2 ft. (A yard = 3 ft; thus, .6666667 or 2/3 of a yard is 2 ft.)

inches are such a stupid measurement. centimeters goes like this : 1 cm =10milimeters , 100 cm or 1000 milimeters =1 meter. 1000 meters = 1 kilometers, so easy. not that stupid 1/8 ,1/6 etc. is that even accurate ?
