Watch as our convertible table transforms from table mode to a full sized St. Andrews Cross in just a few minutes with no tools. The only piece that is stored separately is the rear leg. Check out the plans and other creations on our Etsy linked below.

Im curious how sturdy this is since it looks pretty light. Would it need to be secured to the wall?

Thanks for the demonstration. I am working with limited space since I live in a studio and I saw the plans for this one on etsy, I wasn't sure about it but now I think I'm gonna get it. Sounds like you need to set it up in advance though, not really fast deploying for sudden kink sessions.

Love it! Necessity truly is the mother of invention. Aesthetic and ergonomic this is just what I want.

Id like to ask how much the material cost is, approximately, before i commit to buying the plans! Im trying to keep costs under 500 dollars but for something so unique, i think i could splurge a little 🤭🤭

It cost about $110 to make a year ago. I would imagine you could build it now for $150 or so.

Looks like you're using 2x6's. If I buy your plans would it be easy to adapt to using 2x8's AND shortened for a room with a ~7' ceiling? ....or would those be too tall of orders? Thanks!

This can be easily modified to work with 2x6 and 7 ft ceilings, but things to note. The overall height can stay the same as with the lean it is below 7 ft, but you may want to shorten each section an inch or two to help with being able to move it. The 2x6s will use the same angles on them but will be wider so the overall top of the table will need to be longer side to side.

@@georgethemanticore You misread. I said it looked like YOU were using 2x6's but I would like to use 2x8 (or even 2x10) for a wider surface area. I understand what you mean about the lean shortening the overall height of the structure. However, my main concern is if swapping out the 2x8 or 2x10's would alter the geometry of the design/plans and not allow for it to fold up into an end table? Truth be told I'm thinking your plans with the portable cross that breaks up into the 4 pieces would be much easier to adjust for the difference in board width. The bag with wheels you show in the vid.... what kind of bag is that? I was thinking guitar bag but the top isn't thinned out. Thanks!
