Air bags is a good idea sure ... I would recommend loading the heavier vehicle in front next to the cab for better weight distribution. What type of wood did U use ?
Lol.. im actually going to look at a c5500 2006 uhaul tomorrow.. this one they cut off the box and left the aluminum flooring..hoping its a good one .. any pointers or regrets? The one im looking at is the same as yours..motor..etc .. they are sending my offer in the am on ty he truck
Look at the service record. I hear steering pumps and steering boxes go out in these. Mine were replaced by uhaul 10k ago. And if there wasn't any fuel in the tank pop the lines off at the tank and make sure no rust or random fluids. If so the fuel system needs replaced. (I'd walk away from that)

sorry I didn't see this, I got mine for 5k out the door with tax. you call the truck sales department and negotiate with them. point out the dumb stuff, say you saw a leak, steering was loose, tires are junk, etc. they took mine down like $800. they don't actually see the truck in person, they can only see the maintenance record
as long as there's gas in the tank, that's a big one, i popped the line off of 1 truck and some nasty milky rusty fluid came out, (not old gas). i'd keep in mind you might need to replace steering box and/or pump soon
