Hello, thanks for sharing. I'm riding a Plum SOK, a hardboot setup which is using the boot plate also for the ascent. I'm thinking about switching to a toe piece for more lateral stability when crossing a steep slope. I'm wondering if you are aware if such change will improve that?
I honestly have no idea. My guess is that it will be almost the same in terms of stability, however it will probably be a better setup for touring due to weight savings.
there is a photo of a chart in the video, where the numbers are listed. in short: not much difference in total weight, but it is however much lighter when touring uphill since the bindings are in the backpack. But yeah when everything is assembled (ride mode) it is probably same weight or heavier than a softboot set up.
