i think its just the convention. we usually deal with x and y terms so removing any unfamiliar variables allows us to deal with less parameters. so rather than dealing with x,y and t, we only have x and y.
WTF do we do if our HW problems are a billion times more complex than this? If anyone can help me solve something like: x=cos(5t) , y=sin(2t) and get a Cartesian Equation out of it I would be EXTREMELY grateful!
@@Tryinglittleleg nah man. I looked the problem up elsewhere and they said to just plug in numbers to get the graph. The specific problem I was doing didn't ask for the equation itself. I just wanted to know if I was doing something wrong.
