I tryed so many times with different tutorials but daaamn i cant do this, i was going to try with the full cloth tutorial but nah i am not smart enough, i have been trying for hours following the tutorial and ended up doing it wrong haha. My respects to all of you CC creators that can do this the right way. I just wanted to add Kyle rayner to my sims 4 :(
Thank you so much! You are literally the only RU-vidr and the only YT video I have seen, where there is already a mesh from another character and you just remove the parts and only leave the hair. That's literally what I have been trying to make! I was thinking of making from Persona 5 Ryuji's hair. I have seen tons of videos, but most of them only do the clothes or do a brand new hair, which is not what I am searching. This video helped me a lot, thank you so much+

OMG I'm so happy to see you do a video on conversions. I was actually fantasizing you might do a tutorial because I love your conversions and I had been trying to do them with not much luck despite knowing Blender somewhat well. I took a break for a week from Blender and trying to learn conversions because too many tutorials meandered or weren't as clear as they could be, but this is perfect and what I've been looking for. This helps so much! this is the first tutorial that was helpful to the point I actually got the model in game and working mostly properly. The only issue I'm having is my hair seems to be transparent in the game. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the game model or if it's fixable. Would you mind my asking if you had an idea what the problem may be? (I only ask because I saw you said questions were okay on the fullbody tutorial I saw after this). If not that's okay this tutorial has already helped IMMENSELY.
it could be a number of things, it's a bit hard to tell without a screenshot :0! here's my best guesses though ; a) it uses alpha hair textures (i.e. non-solid textures). fix by clicking modding in sims 4 studio and clicking simglass shader with your pkg open! a tutorial that could help if there's further issues; sims4studio.com/thread/3857/most-transparency-issues-alpha-glass b) something with normals - if your normals are janky it can make a weird 'inverted' effect that makes the outside transparent. in blender, select all then go to mesh > normals > recalculate outside if you're still having issues feel free to drop a screenshot o/!
Every time you show the function with the O button that allows you to morph the hair and refit it just straight up doesn't work on blender for me. Nothing happens and it's very frustrating. Is there anyway you can help me? Maybe explain it a different way for me? I'm losing it trying to figure out where I'm messing up Btw, thanks for uploading this at all. I'm grateful that there's someone like you out here explaining all of this
Hey this might be way late (and I'm not the OP) but I had a similar problem and found what was wrong: if you turn it on and it just moves the whole mesh, that means the circle of influence is MASSIVE and needs to be scaled down. Try scrolling the mouse wheel forward until it shrinks into view; there's also a number on the bottom right of the viewport describing the circle size. Hope this helps!
Thank you very much for making this tutorial, I really appreciate it. (Bonus points for using the funny little dog, love to the avatar is so cute) I have a question tho, I followed the tutorial but sims studio says that I don't have an UV map. I did all as in the tutorial, the open image, and uploaded the png with the texture in the upper corner (I used a template and all , I even tried the generate uv map so that is precise) I then tried with "save image" within the Image menu that is on blender but has no texture. Does somebody know what could have gone wrong?
i'm having a issue where when i import in sims 4 studio after doing the steps it keeps saying, "importing mesh." im not sure if its all wrong or its actually just taking that long to load it. & i used lods.
at 11:52 when i open the new texture w just the hair in the corner it will show the correct image but when im moving the shells around they still act as if im still using the old texture even tho im pretty sure ive followed all ur steps correctly, would u be able to help me?
btw, sadly it doensn't work for /with Alpha-Hair, i got skintoned Stripes in my Hair. (No Laptop-mode is off) Do you have a idea where it comes from? Did i have to delete something in Specular (Studio?)
