About 7 years ago I found a deal on eBay for a Hallicrafters FPM-300. The FPM-300 an early 1970's radio was a Hybrid with tubes in the Final Output stages. The FPM stood for fixed, portable and mobile as it had a self contained power supply that could operate from the mains or DC power.
Being polite even when new it was marginal. What I bought was a piece of junk. After a furtive attempt at resurrection -- I simply kept the Main Board (all solid state) and the S Meter. I resold everything esles and my net loss was $20.
I took the parts I had a designed a solid state QRP transceiver from the original two pieces. This is what you see in the Video.
I made this video in response to the Hackaday Lurkers who never build anything (because they can't) but seem to always pick apart what others do.
