In the post processing tab, I only have the option to "Export Optimal Shape - Only Geometry". I select this and the resulting SpaceClaim file is empty. Do you know this issue?

Hey Jack, that is how it is defined in the latest version. The default settings of export optimal shape: Only Geometry, and Topology Result: Topology Density (drop down to choose which result to use if you have multiple) should be fine. Some options vary by version, but you should be able to get the stl by having a topology density result defined in the topology optimization analysis that you want to use and then right-clicking the result in the workbench project schematic to transfer to design validation (geometry) and update/refresh. It sounds like this is where you may be having issues and you are getting an empty Spaceclaim file. You could try to right-click the topology density result and export to the STL file and then manually import that into a new geometry system.
