Convertion of IC50 TO logarthmic functions

Is it a suggestive approach or is it a mistake if I do -log IC50 even though the drive is in nM?

But mam according to literature study ...I found pMIC is -logMIC......bt according to you it's 6- logMIC....so which one should I consider as standard method

thank u very much for your reply but I have ic50 with microgram mole per litre to convert pic50 shall I take 6-log ic50 or is it necessary to convert microgram to micromolar to calculate pic50
