Daniel had such a great attitude.The "just go for it" quality that made him hop on a train with a stranger seemed to be the same quality that made him so fantastic as a climber. He just went for stuff. It was really admirable! Fun video!

he's doing so good for his first session! I climbed most of these problems recently. The blue dyno took me a few tries haha. semi inside flag with the clown rental shoes + socks on a steep volume on your first session is mental ! Almost makes me realize how huge the difference is when you start with very experienced climbers.

I did notice that your beginner climber did have significant muscles and was quite physically fit, so just wondering what sport/exercise background he came from? He had strength, coordination and perserverance commonly found in athletes, certainly not in couch potatoes. Thanks Josh for a great vid and finding a Daniel was a great boon.

Disclaimer- I am also from New Zealand.. When I first heard Daniels accent I thought to myself, what sort of messed up accent is that? 😂 Then I saw his Canterbury pants and realised it’s my messed up accent… Well done Daniel, showed true kiwi grit there mate!
