I agree that there are a lot of things our parents did not teach us as children and which left us ill prepared for adulthood. Very interesting discussion.
I think one of the main problems with parents of my era is they said "Don't do XYZ"....without telling us the why. Although to be honest many of these parents were never thought themselves....they learned from experimentation as well. I think it's of utmost importance that nowadays parents change the narrative.
Great talk Mel this is soo true because parents are afraid to talk to their children especially teenagers abt certain topic like sex and relationships because they think they'll grow up too fast..
I REMEMBER BEING 16 and my father asking me if I was sexually active .. He made sex look like the worst thing ever !! I told myself that I will never attack my child , I will let her know WHAT IS SEX WHAT IS A RELATIONSHIP WHY SHE SHOULD WAIT How To Budget Why She Should Not Lie To Me WHAT IS Soul Ties Why It Is Important To Date How To Love Her Self What Is Pregnancy Why Marriage Is Important TEACH HER HOW TO SAVE What are Finances Why Is It Important To Set A Table For Generations To Come WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO FIND HER OWN LANE AND STRIDE IN THAT LANE . WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO KEEP FOCUS WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO WORK HARD TELL HER HOW BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED AND GIFTED SHE IS TEACH HER HOW TO EMBRACE HER FLAWS AND WORK PN HER STRENGTH How To Effectively LOVE TOO LONG HAVE PARENTS JUST TELL KIDS "TEK IN YUH EDUCATION" Alot of us are fighting with life because of the mistakes of the people who were set above us to lead us
