He is using an anti material rifle used on light armour which it is designed for and and has enough cover on the building top. You only setup a sniper den or something if you have a reason and time for it.
Yeah, I'm thinking less 'sniper' and more 'school shooter with a bigger gun'. A scenario were the shooter goes to rapid-fire just to get a few rounds on target does not say good things about that shooter's training or dedication to improving their skills. Annoyingly, one of the best things about ARMA - and which certainly keeps bringing me back - is the ability to train in-game to improve your field and marksmanship skills. Equally, however, you do need to train in order to develop those skills, and LEARN the lessons that crop up along the way. Not setting up in plain sight, for example. This idiot was taking fire within minutes of opening the action!

@@Obama-kh3ts only in easier settings. Don't blame the game when you're the only playing it like a pussy. In harder settings the AI is very deadly and lifelike.
@@Akaash449 Exactly, PPL play of pussy difficulty and blame the AI. Considering how large environments are and navigation logic needed, AI is pretty smart. Most people are used to highly scripted location based AI in action games. Even the OP Flashpoint Cold war crisis which was the OG Arma had amazing AI with even a find cover command that can be issued to your group. Even in the real world if there is no cover around and you are getting shot, first and the only thing you can do is going prawn and becoming a smaller target.
@@sheezy2526 Thank God, finally I found someone with some common sense. Ppl forget that this game was designed by ex military ppl, not military wannabees, so the tactics shown here are what actual soldiers are trained to do when under fire. Nobody understands this and keeps comparing everything to Gears of war or call of duty. In real life soldiers value their lives and try to keep calm under fire to locate the target. If they can't, then they start deploying tactics. Also, everyone is not the same, so we may see one soldier deploying smoke, while another returning fire. It's a whole array of tactics to choose from. I don't know why most ppl, even experienced players like Drewski are so dumb to understand this. I guess you really need ppl like you and actual military guys to understand and appreciate how great this game is. Thanks man.
It's not about actually firing a weapon, you can't take shots that early and have bad positioning, to even set this stuff up in game takes hours, the " sniper expertise" is just good players putting in their input.

Heavy rifle, on a bipod, recoil compensating barrel, large muzzle brake. The Barret doesn’t kick like an absolute mule. Texas plinking has a good video of how manageable it is.
No wind, so I’m guessing The ACE mod isn’t enabled. But in his defense the AI in arma is really stupid most of the time, they won’t seek cover from an ambush and (sometimes) will be able to headshot you from about 600m out with iron sights with more than flawless aim of accuracy. But uhh, that was more of a shooting gallery than a sniping mission. Should really change the name of that vid bud.
Although it's a game, but don't expect everyone to believe that a sniper can take out that many people at that distance and not able to be reached by any of the hostiles, and that the hostiles all are being taken within yards of each other, like none of them taking cover in any of the surrounding buildings? The game is waaay to predictable.
You guys are losin' it! The "sniper's" bipod isn't even resting on the wall! He's not changing positions as he should, and is standing out in the open, inviting an artillery, RPG or mortar round.
Snipers basically never put their bipod on a wall or stick their barrel out past the edge of the building. You also wouldn't change positions while engaging a moving vehicle at 1000M, you set up a good hide and rely on the hide to keep your position obscured. Moving to a new position would mean having a second hide picked out and moving attracts human eyes so you're simply giving yourself away if you move in the middle of an engagement. It's not a good firing position and would likely never be used by an actual sniper. A sniper might decide to engage a target of opportunity from any position at all but that's not at all representative of a sniper hide and no sniper ever would be waiting in that position as you're probably inviting being sniped yourself.
