I grew up with this song. I'll admit, I was not at all into this when I was a kid. But I was taught to respect it. I considered him part of that whole "Urban cowboy" shit that went on in the early 80's. I'm sure some of you know exactly what I'm talking about. Many many years, and very hard lessons learned later, I listened to this song again one night. And you know what? I found a deep respect for this song and him. Clearly this song is something of a true story for someone. I respect the gentleman's code of honor in this. That code seems to be lost these days. So I say respect it when you hear or see it.
I grew up listening to country music like Conway Twitty, George Jones , Johnny cash , Hank William sr., Tammy wynett, Loretta Lynn, Dolly parton, Tonya Tucker,
My favorite Male singer, loved Conway since I was a Senior in High School and that's been years..went to his Concerts when he was in Beckley, WV never could get close to that handsome man....melted my heart...LOL
I cant believe I found this song by coincidence on January 1st 2023 .... how I miss the 80's and 90's when music was music, when the words meant the singer's heart and soul ... wow
A lot of people don't believe me when I tell them I grew up with old music and new(born in 96) and this is a song my dad used to play a lot love this song and the memories I have singing this with him on repeat will always cherish those memories he passed in 2018 from cancer
Conway Twitty's a bit before my time, though I remember as a kid listening to his music up at my grandma's old cottage, so these songs evoke memories of those days :) But I agree as well. Much of "country" these days is essentially...stick a cowboy hat on a popstar and now they're a country singer.
Jesus loves you and died on the cross for our sins so we can have eternal life with Him in Heaven. All we have to do is put our faith in Jesus and turn from our evil ways of sin.😊
Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is REAL COUNTRY MUSIC! No country rap or hick hop. None of that shit. And whoever is playing that Fender Telecaster is on top of his game!
A experience similar to this just happened to me this past Saturday in Ruidoso, NM. Went to the Win Place Show Bar and in walked such a beautiful lady, in a black top and a long black skirt with boots….we danced a few two-steps and I was entranced by her eyes and smile. She took my number…..I do hope to hear from you soon Karen.
Today's so called "country music" just sucks. I like the old country songs and singers like Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams Jr, Charlie Daniels, and David Allen Coe.
I was reading the list and when I got to the bottom and noticed you listed david I was like yessir. Lots of people dont like him because he was so called "racist"
"I know I held more woman than most eyes have ever seen...that night I knew a lady wearin tight fittin jeans" I lived this in the 80's and I cherish the moments to this day 😎
My (good) ex sang this a cappella, under his breath on one of our early dates. I told him to shut up, because someone might hear him and think it's proactive. I loved him (still do), but I had yet to appreciate his favorite music genre.
True. Check out these country music artists who try to keep traditional country music alive in RU-vid: Heidi Hauge, Heather Myles, Darrel Armstrong, Kirstin Daugaard, Shawn Diddy, Pamela Gilmartin, Olivia Harms, Tayla Lynn, Whey Jennings, Larry Cunningham, Ben Haggard, Bjoro Haland, Sarah Storer, Hoss Curtis.
I'm 65 years old and country music has become a screwed up mess for me. I'm used to the good old music. This new crap is some kind of mix of country music and rap. FJB
It reminds me of my ex. She went back to her world and I'm still stuck in mine, as the song says. Makes me laugh but dam she was a woman. She can sit in nice cars and upscale restaurants but I'll always be on the side of the road or in a garage with a burger or cold pizza and grease one the hands.
@@leahflower9924 using the lyrics of the song to accurately describe my life and ex lol. It's true though, sometimes women find their life and time with men like in the song or me, who have no rightly business being with a Woman so high class and fine, but we do.
