North east India has a rich history that most of Indians do not know about. Began in the 4th century, Kamarupa kingdom is believed to be the first historical kingdom of Assam. It ruled north bengal, Bangladesh, Assam, Bhutan and West bengal and Bihar as well.
In the year 1257, a ruler named Sandhya founded the Kamata kingdom which originated from Kamarupa kingdom.
In the year 1515, Biswa Singha became the king of Kamata kingdom and founded the koch dynasty. His grandson named Raghudev declared his independence and the koch kingdom/kamata kingdom bifurcated into two kingdoms in the year 1587- cooch behar kingdom and koch hajo kingdom.
Cooch Behar kingdom, also known as Koch Behar kingdom, was ruled by koch bihar dynasty, or koch behar dynasty. The Cooch Behar dynasty had many maharajas, and maharani Gayatri Devi, rajmata of Jaipur also belonged to the cooch behar kingdom; she was the princess of cooch behar kingdom.

भारत के उत्तर पूर्वी भाग का इतिहास बेहद वैभवशाली रहा है। पर आज ज़्यादातर लोग इसके बारे में नहीं जानते। 4थी सदी में शुरू हुए कामरूप राज्य को असम का सबसे पुराना राज्य माना जाता है जिसका शासन चलता था असम, पश्चिम बंगाल, उत्तर बंगाल, भूटान, बांग्लादेश, और बिहार पे।
1257 में संध्या नाम के राजा ने कामता राज्य की शुरुआत की जिसका उद्भव हुआ था कामरूप राज्य से।
1515 में बिस्व सिंघा कामता राज्य के राजा बने और उन्होंने कोच वंश की शुरुआत की जिसका शासन चला कामता राज्य पे। बाद में इनके पोते रघुदेव ने स्वतंत्रता घोषित की और साल 1587 में कामता या कोच राज्य के दो हिस्से हुए- कूच बिहार और कोच हाजो।
कूच बिहार पे शासन चलता था कोच वंश का जिसमें कई महाराजा हुए। जयपुर की महारानी और राजमाता गायत्री देवी भी कूच बिहार राजवंश की थीं। तो जानिए नॉर्थ ईस्ट और ईस्ट का इतिहास अभी!
