I am furious at JD Vance. As the spouse of a 20 yr Army and Air Force retiree with active and reserve duty that never served (thankfully) in a combat zone I can assure you Walz and his family sacrificed way more over the 24 years he served with the Army Guard than Corporal Vance ever did in his air conditioned press office wherever he served. How dare a corporal w 4 years condemn the service of a command master sergeant who served 24 years and had severe hearing loss because of it, and didn’t have to serve any after 20 if he wanted retirement benefits. On top of it he was running for congress and won without billionaire Silicon Valley backers like Vance got. Walz also helped numerous veterans with his work for 12 years on veterans committees in congress. Both Trump and Vance are absolutely disgraceful to military members, retirees, gold star families, military spouses and especially disabled vets.
Trump is the one who dodged the draft but Vance tried to claim that Walz intentionally dropped out to avoid serving in the Iraq war, which after several years of service is ok anyway.

@@supernova2034 I'll be honest, if you like how good things were economy and job wise before they started to downturn in fall 2019 (when donald's tariff war was starting to affect consumers and businesses) then you really liked Obama's policies and stability and recovery he brought. donald took credit for what was already doing well and continued on the same trajectory. It wasn't just covid that tanked us, it was donald's bad decisions. Covid just masked the catastrophe that was headed for us. donald's tax cut really didn't help the bulk of the average person, it was swiftly and strategically targeted at the super wealthy. Benefits to other people weren't intentions and just temporary side affects that sunset, by design. The rich people cuts were designed to remain, however.

By the way, Trump's and Vance's Project 2025 would cut the benefits from Medicare and eliminate overtime pay requirements. Trump will increase inflammation because he will give a 15 percent decrease to the wealthy which will make the national debt worse. Medicine will cost more under Trump. At least Biden cut the price of insulin and asthma meds.
Too many have been radicalized on the internet and hate anyone who isn't like themselves. That and the GOP is literally the old, white Christian party (check the demographics) so many will vote for what they see as THEIR interests regardless.
I NEVER rely on individual polls. I've found polling TRENDS (changes in polling averages over time) to be more accurate. Here's what the current polling trends indicate (keep in mind there's no indication any of these were conducted after the Walz choice): Prior to Biden dropping out, Trump led him in polling averages of ALL five swing states, and was even expanding his margin. Since Harris took the wheel, she now leads in Michigan and Wisconsin, is essentially tied in Georgia and is closing the gap in Arizona and Pennsylvania. The momentum has CLEARLY shifted in Kamala's favor, but we'll know much more in a week or two.
Agree that trends are quite useful, thank you for sharing. However, like weather models, it’s not a reliable trend if those numbers aren’t sustained! I expect they will be sustained, but we can only know with time.
In two weeks is the Democratic National Convention...the momentum in Harris' favor will only go up from there as she will get a boost from that and all the press coverage. Will that subside? If so, when? What will really be telling is polling in early October.

Polls at this point in the race are just... gauges... and mainly entertainment. I don't believe in any polls (remember the polls with Hillary/donald, and the polls with Bush, Jr./Gore)??? I believe in the keys of Dr. Allan Ritchman, but he said he will give his final answer after the Democratic convention in August. So, let's wait and see.

Be careful what you wish for. I live in a very blue state, everything is high priced here. Noone gets ahead, And alot of poor areas and crime. Red states around us have cheaper gas and no state taxes. They're way better off. When I'm near the bordering states i make sure I get gas there where it 25 cents cheaper a gallon.
Residents of the Villages are close to 90% GOP voters. But it's a huge place, so even those 10% or so Dems can put together a golf cart parade (they all have golf carts). Rest assured FL isn't turning blue anytime soon.

@@RitaRichardson-f9c Well, I remember a lot of name calling, use of hateful speech against immigrants, outrageous claims about the covid virus (like telling us to drink bleach and such). But the thing that hurt us the most is the divisive speech that tore apart families and friendships. I'm sure he did some good things. All administrations do some good things and some not so good but I can't think of any, other than the huge tax break he gave his rich friends at the start of his presidency. The one thing I thought for sure he would do was control the influx of drugs coming into our country that is destroying the lives of many young people but he didn't do that; it was all talk, no substance. I don't know if anyone is ever going to do something about that. That would require mobilizing the National Guard to protect every inch of the Southern AND Northern borders, our air space, and sea.

Tim Walz served with distinction and was approved for retirement before his unit was called to go to Afghanistan. This slur has been debunked and although Vance did go to Afghanistan he basically was a guy that filled in paperwork. Everyone that serves deserves respect, including Gov. Walz and JD Vance.
Walz was demoted and he's on camera stealing valor on several occasions claiming he fought in a war zone. His fellow soldiers that served with him do not like him and have been giving interviews stating such since 2019.

It always baffles me that Usonian reports on elections never talk about policy or values. They talk about stats, enthusiasm, momentum, and a bunch of other stuff as if this were the issue at stake. They never talk about real politics, the real policy proposals or real impacts.
And by "trailing her" you could also say he has been freaking stalking her with the intention of harassing her alongside his cringe fest entourage (see pic he posted). They are so lost over these opponent changes & lacking any sort of vision what so ever that they're just following her.
