Could you imagine how much money she has saved? Since this pandemic has hit. Just from the freezer clean out she has been implementing during this time.
I just have to say your videos are helping so many people right now. Not just with feeding their families but also in the mental aspect of giving us something to look forward to and sharing your light and positivity with others. 🥰
ikr i saw it and my jaw hit instand the flor 1$ is nearly free where i live 1 pack of this are 6-7€ most of the time and even halve price i depate with me in my head getting this
Gotta say, I'm such as fan of Hailey! She has such great expression and her "whellow there" cracked me up! I love seeing your kids involved in the filming now they're stuck at home! Thanks for the chuckles and the fantastic content!
Hi Christine! I'd love to donate blood, unfortunately there is still a ban on blood donations from gay men. I hope everybody is taking care of themselves :)
@@FrugalFitMom Here is some more info about blood donation and the LGBTQ community. In general, during screening for blood donations, they ask folks if you are man who has had sex with a man in the past 12 months. If you are, they will not allow you to donate. www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/how-to-donate/eligibility-requirements/lgbtq-donors.html
I'm guessing it would be different if you were in a long standing relationship w only that one person for 12+ months. You'd both get tested for anything.
I used to be a girl (now a middle-aged woman :D ) and my dad at some point forbade me to bring more rocks into my room because he was afraid the floor/ceiling might come down. I inherited my love for rocks/shells/random nature treasures from my mom :)
I didnt collect rocks, but I did throw a tantrum when my frogs couldn't live in the tub... I'm also afraid of spiders now but I still remember collecting a huge amount of spiders and stuffed them in my lunchbox... dunno what I was planning to do with them x)
Thank you so much for urging people to donate blood/plasma!!! I have to receive blood/plasma twice as week right now, and the shortages do have me worried. I was born missing some of my blood components so without twice weekly transfusions my organs would begin to fail and I would die.
The discussion and facial expressions over the hamburger helper was hilarious! I make my own version of H.H. at home a lot, we don't buy it either. You guys are such a lovely family!
When my twin daughters were 5 years old their grandma invited them over to spend the night. Their grandma said, “we will have hot dogs and chips”. The kids said “what are hot dogs?” 😂😂
@@misspowers3857 no its not easy to do, my son is the lover of all kinds of nuggets and what i call "white meals". I work full time and while I am not going to grad school I am trying to study lacation to become an IBCLC and have a 2 year old and one on the way. I try to cook as much as I can but also being a nutritionist is a double edged sword along with a metablic rare disease that doesn't allow me to eat what i prepare for my family. My son has had his share of my "quick dinners" (hamburger helper or spaghetti-o's) as well. We can not be too hard on our selves (or others), you are slaying the mom game Miss Powers & Mary Hunt. We all are in our own way!
We all should be kind to one another and support each others momming game! When I complimented Kristine I was in no way disregarding working moms as I am one and so is she. She works hard at her meals and her channel as well as her teaching! EACH MOMS LIFE LOOKS DIFFERENT WE CANNOT GO AROUND JUDGING OTHER MOMS AND WOMEN, WE SHOULD BE SUPPORTING EACH OTHER, because we are all killing it! So with that! I applaud all MOMS! Stay at home, working, student moms, grandparents raising grandkids, moms to one, fur moms, moms to multiples, work from home moms, the list goes on and on! Stop judging, start supporting and lifting.
Thank you for a plug for blood donation. It is truly necessary. I am a nurse, working every day! A new accessory to my uniform is a surgical mask to be worn every moment while I'm at work. Stay healthy 💓
Your husband is so nice. Your children are very sweet and sooo calm. I really love your channel & always look forward. What size freezer do you have I would like to get one the size you have. Thank you for all you do & for all you are. Your friend Kim.
My three-year-old grandson loves collecting rocks. When we go camping on the river here in Texas we look for and collect rocks shaped like hearts. Then after we get home the kids paint them we date them for that year. This Mimi and my grandson’s parents have rocks everywhere at our homes. He even brought me one to the shop where I work, which is with his dad, my son and I have it on my desk. ❤️
Hi Christine, it’s your blueberry friend from Michigan. Thank you for asking people to donate blood. I wish I could because I would be one of the first ones in line. However, I just got an organ transplant last October and now I can’t donate. ☺️
Love the fact your kids will eat everything you cook! We have some picky eaters in our family! Great video! Please continue your grocery hauls and cooking videos! Those are my favorites! Your kids are so adorable! Really enjoy them! They are so sweet and well mannered!
Janet Webb I was coming on to say the same thing where does one find eaters like that sure bit at my house. Picky eaters in all different picky ways here🤦♀️!
Yup! My eldest is a great eater, so I arrogantly thought I just did a better job than parents with picky kids! Then along came my youngest.....even at weaning stage, he was just not having it! We eat a wide range of food, mostly all home made and he barely eats anything except cucumber and lettuce, plain rice and plain pasta! At 5 he’s a bit more reasonable and I can coax him to try things, but it’s usually a miss.
Thank you for supporting blood donations. I work in a hospital laboratory and the need is always there. The blood inventories can be exhausted very quickly and donations are a challenge during these times. And on another note wrap your meat in press n’ seal before freezing (then place in a freezer bag) and your meat will never freezer burn and will look as fresh as the day you bought it.
Recipe: Do it this way. Christine: I do what I wanna do! I bought your T-shirt that says “”I’m just here for the food!” For my daughter’s birthday, she LOVES it!
That looks amazing! YOU are amazing. I want that. Lol. By the way, even if it weren’t going on bread, it wouldn’t be Keto as beans/legumes are not something people in Keto would be eating. Wanted to add, your entire family are funny and loving and they is such a pleasure to watch.
Your kids are amazing little humans! Love seeing your family in the videos, it gives me all the feels. My mom cooked for us every night growing up and this brings back great memories.
I thought I was the only one that liked pickles on salad. I will have to try the pizza with the bean paste. Looked really good. So glad you all are doing good and staying healthy. Stay safe and stay well.
as a middle eastern person, I second the "what's that about?" for chocolate hummus....but yeah, hummus has to be made with chickpeas; hummus is literally arabic for chickpeas.
Chocolate hummus still has chickpeas, it just also has chocolate and it’s really good haha can be used on crackers, cookies, strawberries, etc... a slightly healthier way to snack but still have a sweet tooth.
Hummus is usually made with chickpeas, tahini and oil (usually olive ). Some have lemon, others have garlic, others have a combination of both. Just don't ask where it originated from ... that's another story all together!
I wish I had markets near me that had great discounts like yours! I will be continuing to donate plasma because a lot of people need it for medications.
I want to donate, but I’m a carrier for a 2 diseases that prevent me from donating. I run donation centers for city government to do my part in getting others to do it.
Have you considered using the baggies that are labeled for the freezer so as not to have so much of the meat burn? I find the storage bags do not work to keep the meat from burning.
Daycares here in ATX are open but only limited to 10 kids and they have to be the same 10 kids each day. Chocolate hummus is made from chickpeas infused with cocoa, sugar and vanilla!!
I totally cracked up when you asked the kids if they know what hamburger helper or spaghettios are. My kids had no idea either during their childhood. We lol about it today because I was one of the few moms who was able and had time to cook everything, well MOST, things from scratch. My daughter is a professional wrestler for WWE and before she was signed by them and worked as an independent she traveled a lot every week, all over the world. They were in Kentucky decided to go to go to waffle house. She’d never been there so she didn’t know what it was and one of the wrestlers said to her it’s kind of like the IHOP and she just kind of looked at him and he said you don’t know what waffle house is, and you don’t eat fast food, did your mother deprive you of your childhood? I absolutely LOVE My daughters reply and I think you will appreciate it too. She said, my MOM didn’t take us out to places that much, she cooked ALL of our meals, breakfast, lunch (even to take to school), dinner and all our snacks, fast food was a treat for us for doing well on our report cards, soda was for special occasions only. Neither me or my brother have bad eating habits or weight issues, so, maybe YOUR mom deprived YOU! She is her mother’s daughter! ❤️❤️
I LOVE your videos, just discovered you about 10 days ago. One thing I truly admire is what great eaters your kids are. I have an 18 month old that I hope will one day love to try all foods. Any advice on how you did it? Thanks, stay healthy!
Katrina Locklin My suggestion for you is to keep presenting them opportunities to try new foods. Also get them helping you in the kitchen as soon as you can! The more they help prepare the food the more interested they will be in eating it.
Yep. Our entire family agree........ You have some good looking hair. Thats no joke. We r not sure what all the fuss is all about???????? We like your hair style and the way u sytle it.
As as Israeli, I can pretty confidently say that Hummus must have chickpeas. Hummus literally means chickpeas in Arabic. Also, chocolate hummus is an abomination that no person from the middle east would ever condone. Generally, hummus is just chickpeas, lemon, spices, tahini (which is sesame paste) and that's basically it.
hummus /ˈhʊməs,ˈhʌməs/ Learn to pronounce noun a thick paste or spread made from ground chickpeas and sesame seeds, olive oil, lemon, and garlic, made originally in the Middle East.
Hummus is only chickpeas, and actully hummus means chickpeas in arabic, hence the name of the dip. But since it became "trendy" there have been many variations to it, including like you mentioned chocolate hummus. Hope you're staying all safe and healthy.
I love your videos!! Just a pointer for pizzas, I used to work at a pizza place and we would always put the spinach on once the pizza was done baking. Really good that way since it's not cooked!!
Working is tough right now with no school. My youngest daughter has bad separation anxiety and school was a great distraction for that. Now she just sees me going to work where sick people go and worries constantly. We are all doing what we can. Love watching your videos for a break.
I love it when my family loves what i cook for dinner. I have one picky eater but its ok... Some days i just need to serve with out other ingredients in that dish. It all works out. 👍👍 the navy Beans are good it was the only bean i found and to my surprise we actually like them.
Blueberries! You’ll be finding them awhile, lol. Oh yes rocks,my of three sons...Are you talking about black bean humans? Or really chocolate? Naan...I love naan.Im smiling again .You and your family are so delightful.Kudos to you👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It was suggested to sing Happy Birthday while washing hands🎂
Your children are the sweetest, well mannered kiddos I’ve seen on RU-vid! You’re doing a great job raising them mama!! Also your husbands reaction to hamburger helper cracked me up! I love your videos and you have totally inspired me to shop clearance and to reuse and clear out our fridge and freezer!
Thanks for the reminder to go give blood!! I wish needles didn't make me pass out.... But hubby gave blood once and he will go back because of your message.
Thanks for posting vids every day this week!! FrugalFitMom is my fave channel by far -- I've even got my 22yo twin daughters into watching you and your fabfitfamily! Tip for your deep freezer -- pick up a few of those large re-usable quasi-cloth/plastic grocery bags and organize the contents with those. The long handles will make it easy to pull out a bag full of ground beef or whatever, and they'll be stackable if you put a piece of cardboard on the bottom of the bags.
Hummus technically has to have tahini. Tahini is the definitive ingredient. Somethings are labeled hummus that are actually just bean dips, like chocolate hummus. It’s a marketing choice- “chocolate hummus” is more appealing to consumers than chocolate bean dip eeew
Love you videos, but don’t appreciate the way you spoke down to canned pasta foods... remember some people do feed/eat those foods based on their life situation and it makes ya feel like you’re failing... I meal prep, but as a single full time working mother... after a 12 hour work day if my child wants a can of Spider-Man pasta, he is fed and that’s all that matters. Just some thoughts ❤️
Oh, I don't care if other people buy Chef Boyardee or hamburger helper, I just don't think they taste very good. I'm fully guilty of using shortcuts for easy meals, so no judgement here!
I've got nine children and they have had many cans of pasta and soups. If I have extra money at the store and my kids are allowed to pick out a treat.... canned pasta is what they choose. They are getting full and that's what matters.
Absolutely. That's how I cook. I look at a recipe and check the ingredients then I roughly scan measurements. But I use it more as a suggestion 😆. Hasn't failed me yet!
Thanks for the pizza recipe, I have two crust ready to go for tonight and am very limited with toppings. I've never tried a hummus like base, I'll give it a try.
for us my husband has no choice and with our special needs kiddo being prone to seizures and his immune compromised we risk him getting sick daily. I am a bag of nerves. thank you for your videos! gives me something to focus on
Those plant-based burgers are so terrible for you and your family they are made up of like 99% soy and all soy in the United States is GMO! Just figured I would let you know! Hope you and your family are staying safe!
once you're done with your freezer challenge, you should clean that ice off the sides! it's not that much yet but it'll be a lot easier to clean off than when it gets out of hand and the freezer is packed to the top! :)
Ha! My kids barely know what all of those foods are too! Every so often they will see it and ask and I'll make it once so they can 'experience' it. We also had a moment last year when we realized they had never had bagel bites or pizza rolls. So one Friday night we had a movie night and tried them. They have never asked for these foods twice. Lol It's funny what some people consider normal foods.
Some people use peanut butter in a pinch and I’ve heard you can do different nut butters as well. It might not be traditional but try experimenting because food should be fun and adaptable. Personally I prefer to just replace part of the olive oil with sesame oil when I’m out of tahini... It gives a move authentic flavour.
