lol going back and watching some old ones, I don't remember this must have been right before I started watching, but this is an epic one. That steak came out about as good as you could ask for under said conditions, and died when you woke up the next morning like damn I slept so good last night, lol ya bro you just ate a whole tomahawk steak =)
For the steak next time grill it and get that crust and then transfer to the cast iron skillet and bast it on butter snd herbs. Both sides and enjoy brotha
Wow. I have never seen such a big piece of steak before. It`s huge, but it looks delicious. Love your content Ryan. Lots of good vibes and it makes me feel good 😍❤❤
I think your channel's signature move is opening a door and having something fall out. To heck with mice...this is your tag. Steaks are easier to cook to temp if you let them come to room temperature first. Let your fire burn down to just coals. Those nice ones you see right before everyone goes to bed and says "damn, now the fire is perfect to cook on!"
Cuts the fat off yet throws a huge cube of butter on it 🧈 😒 😂The fat you cut off is not only only good for you but it’s the best part 🥩 bra. Either way, i enjoy your content boss.
Love your stealth videos of city camping as it is what I will be doing once I get my van and conversion done to remain working at my job. You did a great job with steak considering, next time burn the fire down to coals without grill on it, put grill on it for about 10mins when fire is nearly down to coals. Then, put steak on grill to cook turning once, it should spring back slightly when touched if medium rare. Move coals over from other side of fire also to maintain even distribution of heat and finally wrap in foil for 15 minutes with garlic butter etc to rest. Fire cooking is tricky as the heat distribution is hard and it's why you avoid open flames due to wind and the uneven temperature; you were getting it right closer to the end with coals, but just do that from the start next time for juicy medium rare goodness.
If you wanna get that steak done properly- just do constant turning every 2-3 mins. Don’t believe what you read online about not flipping steaks more than once!
Unless all your stuff falling out on the ground is a schtick you should just get a cargo net and string it up on two hooks or eyes with carabiners and hold it in. The frustration of having to let down the net to get bulky items out would for sure be smaller than the frustration of picking your stuff up off the ground.
I've been living mostly off grid in my converted ambulance van in some of Oregon's harshest dry deserts for almost 6 years now, what a great experience it's been for me... One tip to cooking over open coals, is to mist them with a water bottle when they start to flare up on you.
Just now watching this video. Much appreciated coming to Washington state. This road that you camping on is actually my backyard. If you drive to the end of the road u come to the boulder river trailhead. It's a beautiful 4 mile hike to the waterfalls. Definitely recommend coming back and camping out there again.
I highly enjoy how clean the Van is and hygenicly good looking this man is for just living out of his VAN! Making me want to go buy a big Van and fix it up so i can just live in it . Thank you for the awesome Video !! i died when he dropped that tater and screamed haha
@@Ryantwomeyy Hey, I'm late here, next time, take your steak off at 130 before you wrap and rest it and it'll be 135, perfect medium rare. Your thermometer was accurate, you took it off at about 140 and it rested to 145-150~
You pulled that off Brody, your making that Van life look very attainable. Sure there are small inconveniences, but it beats paying 2500 a month for Rent. Working all day, just to make enough to pay rent. That shit gets old. If your kids are grown, or you don't have any yet, Van life is the way, if you really want to be FREE and enjoy life.
I don't think I've seen a video where you open the back and something doesn't fall out, lol! Love these videos man. Let me know if you come back to the Seattle area. You can setup in my driveway for a few days.
Me and my buddies are having a good wholesome laugh about your channel. It's just because I'm pretty sure DARPA doesn't like me, so it's funny that you quit to live the van life. Y'all don't target US citzens do you? You know what...never mind, lol. Enjoy van life buddy, lovin your channel 🤙 God bless.
Just curious, do you work? If not, please do a video on how you’re able to live this lifestyle, this will help those of us interested in doing the same. Ty!
