In this private flight attendant video I take you along on my layovers in some amazing island destinations. I feel so lucky that I work as a corporate flight attendant. Did you know that the job of a private flight attendant is not over one the private jet lands? Private flight attendants are in charge of securing catering for the private jet. Private flight attendants also clean and fine detail the private jet. It is the most exciting job, and a very misunderstood job. A Corporate Flight Attendant job is much different than the commercial flight attendant job.
Make sure to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss out on any future flight attendant videos!

This is the first video I’ve watched on your channel being a aviation enthusiast. I have a lot of respect of what you do and just flight attendants in general, because there’s so many easy and hard passengers you deal with. A lot of passengers don’t understand the work you have to do preparing for a flight or trip, so hopefully all of your customers and repeat customers strongly appreciate what you and your company do providing challenging service! Thanks for sharing :)

@@JacquelineTravels I second that! It's going to sound really stupid, but I'd never thought about this side of the industry. When working in a large company, people are hired to do a million things. You however, after being in an atmosphere where you can't really put distance between you and a nasty passenger, have to do so many jobs and wear so many different hats! You must be incredibly good with organisation!☺️ Hope you enjoy the job for as long as you want to do it!👏👏

How do you plan this all out and keep track of what you are doing?!? I want to see a detailed video on the planning and how it works in your brain. How do you keep track of what you are doing?!? Does your company say what you need to provide i.e. snacks lunch or you just assume. I can't see a passenger breaking down what they want for the island hopping. Is that's what is happening? I work in the service industry and I cant even imagine the pressure you are under.
@JacquelineTravels
@JacquelineTravels 4 года назад
It is a lot of work! I can definitely make a more in depth video on the process, but I have a notebook where I write out my days, flight times, how long the flights are and what I think I'll be serving. Some charters have very specific catering requests. There were no specific requests for this trip besides letting me know I had passengers who were following the keto diet, some dairy free, egg free and meat free passengers too. So if there isn't a request for the first flight I will have a couple of options to serve. When the flight is over I will ask passengers if there is anything they would like on the next flights. Depending on flight times I will decide if I am serving a meal or snack. If it is hard to tell I will ask the scheduling agents to reach out to the passengers PA's and ask what they would like.

@JacquelineTravels
@JacquelineTravels 4 года назад
You are so observant! All of the meals and snacks on this flight were served on porcelain, with silverware. I had plastic cups for cold drinks and paper for hot simply because this plane does not have mugs or cold glassware for 14 people. I would have felt bad giving some of the group glass and the others plastic/paper.

Your videos are so educational and insightful about life as a corporate FA...and so well done. Have to admit that the catering capers, pardon the pun, stress me out...for you. Question, do you spend most of your time, whether on the ground or at home, looking for places to purchase things, buying or ordering groceries and just plain thinking about and prepping for the meals?
@JacquelineTravels
@JacquelineTravels 4 года назад
I am ALWAYS thinking about food. When I was a commercial FA I was able to enjoy my layovers and not work again until I got on the plane. Now I have to pick up catering items, try to store them etc. during my layovers. And as you can tell in this video layovers are short sometimes so if I have a lot of running around to do it cuts into my time to unwind. I try to prepare as much as I can ahead of time and if it makes sense I will bring a lot of food with me just so I am not as stressed in my "down time."

The food is usually fully cooked, I rarely make anything from scratch or raw on the plane, so that helps. I try to heat in the oven instead of the microwave also which helps. I’ve had passengers request no smelly foods if they are very sensitive to the smell. The air cycles often on the plane so if there is an unpleasant scent it usually vanishes quickly

It’s hard to compare service for the two jobs. I can get to the plane as early as I need and I am in charge of catering options so I can plan what’s going to work for each flights whereas you have to wait for an incoming plane and serve what catering provides. I find when I’m relaxed service goes more smoothly so don’t focus on the upcoming crazy busy flight, just tell yourself you’ll get through it, because you will 😊

One tip I learned from another flight attendant to get coolers where you need them when you can't stow them aboard was to buy a bunch of very big styrofoam coolers then cover them in packing tape and stickers so they don't chip and then just ship them to your destinations (the FBO, hotels or even the rental car company) empty. They are super light and then no matter where you go you have coolers positioned all over when you can't take one on a leg yourself. Perhaps you can make deals with the Whole Foods managers wherever you are to preload them for you?

Do You have an uniform?
@JacquelineTravels
@JacquelineTravels 4 года назад
Hi, there are uniform guidelines we follow. Always pants since we move around so much, flat shoes so we don’t destroy the carpet and I usually wear a black top so I don’t get too dirty while cooking.

With 14-people on the plane one of those people that are not paying for the plane should find their wallet and give you a tip, I do when I fly.

I was taken care of at the end of this trip! It’s never expected but always appreciated!

How tall are you being a corporate FA?
@JacquelineTravels
@JacquelineTravels 4 года назад
I am 5’6” so I fit into most planes. I don't think you would be denied a trip if you were too tall but you would be uncomfortable working.

How did you get this job
@JacquelineTravels
@JacquelineTravels 4 года назад
4 interviews, 2 contract flights and a few months of hoping this would turn into a full time gig. I also had to spruce up my resume, make a food portfolio and get certified to fly on these jets

Then you should click on a video that says “pilot life” and not “flight attendant life.”

I would never shop at Whole Foods ever! And those big black sunglasses please lose those you look like you're going to go weld something.

Hard to listen to you in the beginning of the video without being distracted by those awful shades; it's like you accidentally picked up your gay uncle's sunglasses by mistake. Way too big for your slender nose and pretty face, IMHO. Whether corporate or commercial, flight attendants generally have to stress over catering and whether or not it's going to be accurate (and also tasty). Love to see your level of professionalism and conscientiousness when it comes to taking care of your passengers and crew! ...and yes, some of the islands (hello Jamaica! lol) just do not have the attention to detail or work ethic that you find elsewhere. I bet you Chinese workers say the same thing about us Americans. lol Sounds like you have some lovely passengers and what could be nicer than that? It makes all the difference to long days and short layovers. Happy travels!

Don’t watch my Vegas layover, you’ll definitely hate those sunglasses! I am very lucky to have had amazing passengers, it definitely helps with long days and being away from home! Enjoy the rest of your weekend 😊

I don’t think it’s considerate to film inside someone else’s jet - that’s like filming inside their house

I work for this company flying their people around, it’s not owned by a person. I’ve gotten permission. When I contract I don’t show the airplanes
