you need to be so so so careful with dachshunds because they are prone to back problems. you cannot let them jump up or down furniture, run up stairs or even lift them the wrong way because they get inflamed backs so easily:( i have a cream longhaired and theyre to die for but im seriously worried about the trend of people getting dachshunds bc people dont understand they are an extremely sensitive breed that require so much time (they genuinely cannot be left alone for more than 3 hours) and need a lot of care. I know 2 that had to be put down bc of slipped disks in their backs:( but theyre the most loyal beautiful and funny little pups ever imo!!!
110% agree. i work at a shelter and we just had 2 be surrendered last week because their owners couldnt pay for their vet bills and they had developed hip problems and were literally given up cause they aren't cute accessories anymore.. not saying olivia would do that but i'd honestly consider another breed. they're beautiful dogs who deserve good lives obviously but their breeding still being encouraged sucks cause they are so much work and people don't realise it
dogs are bred to have health problems just so they can look 'aesthically pleasing '... dogs aren't fashion accessories, go to the dog pound, rescue a dog on death row instead.
My dog is prone to that and he had a serious back problem back In January if we didn’t get him checked he would have lost his back legs due to damage on his motor nerves from the slipped discs but there’s actually a laser treatment now that them breed dogs can get after 4 sessions my dogs back was healed. Heals very quickly they get some injections with it too and it was only like 60 euro a session his back is like brand new now

That shreddy thing is an absolute tip I am absolutely shite at getting my water in because I forget to drink unless it tastes good so I've been using isotonic sports drink tablets (sugar free) and have 2 glasses a day with half a tab and it's kiwi strawberry and is banging, but I'm also absolutely shite at getting my vitamins and I have to have them every day because I'm legit fucking disabled and feel like shit without them cos I'm deficient in everything I stg and so I'll definitely be getting some of that!!
