'Its our amplifiers that are making this sound good!' And you know what, he's right. Air Tight are one of a few brands that really do qualify as audio royalty. Nothing they make is ever gonna sound less than excellent. Just a shame it costs so much, esp. outside Japan.
They sound incredible and look incredible. But I can hear the box resonances in the bass frequencies, unfortunately. Or maybe it has something to do with the room?
The next size down Serblin speakers would likely have been better. Polish designed TT. Laser remote control adjustment.Sound was very good in the room. The AirTight Gear made my mouth water.
How long do the tubes hold up in the Air Tight amplifiers? And, do they have a tube monitoring system to let you know when a tube has failed? The Air Tight amps certainly look exquisite. We are presently running a PrimaLuna EVO 300 integrated, and it has been superb. That said, we are always looking for an upgrade path if one exists. We have Klipsch AL5 LaScalas. They work beautifully with tube amplification. I'd like to enjoy more of a holographic listening experience than we currently receive from this tandem. The soundstage is centered nicely, however depth and individual instrument placement is not really happening. Our room is large, uncluttered, and certainly above average.
