I saw this in store here in Sweden so it seems to be available already within EU. I like the way it looks but the performance of that digital display is horrible one of the worst I have seen in a G-Shock. I could barely tell the time even in good strong store display lights. The poor display is the reason I will not be getting any of the GA-2200 models with negative display. If the analogue part had a seconds hand it would have been different because then I could just use it primarily as a analogue watch with a cool look and mostly ignore the digital display during the day. Sure one could always keep using the backlight function to get a look on the display but that would quickly run down the battery cells which are not very big in this watch. The battery type used in this particular model of watch is also a disadvantage because it is a type of battery most G-Shock collectors will not have available as a spare at home since most non solar G-Shocks use either CR2016, CR2025, CR1220 and some CR2032. SR927W are only in a few G-Shock models.
Besides its not my choise of style (too asyncronious) one thing im missing from my generation of gshock in this tier was the many modules in same form factor. Bedst examble being the 100 series with atleast gls100 gax100 gd100 ga100 110 120 130 and 140 all in same form factor and so for the next generations. I understand the need to implement new technoligy that might not be compatible like here where it seems they use carbon core and combined lcd/analog print but it seems every module now gets its own form factor. Maybe i miss categorize the tier for the 2000 series but I could just see myself getting many of the new form factors if they just came with a module of my choise.
I would chamge the display for the MIP like on the GBD-200, make the hour markers more visible and give them some lume. Maybe the MIP screen could use all the unused space.
If you knew anything about watches it doesn't take much to change the battery he had to have a screwdriver you got to go to the store and buy a battery and it takes 10 minutes very easy even you could probably do it with low IQ
This looks like a plastic version of the GST B300 with the 6 screws (which i have!). Is this supposed to be an update from the GA2100 (casioak)? Gonna be tough to beat the GA2100's cult following though..
