Many years ago, Carol Duvol introduced a silver Femo-type clay on her show. It was sold in full one ounce pieces and the results were amazing. Thank you for re-introducing it.
One of the best narrators I have heard. Very professional, clear speech. I learned a lot. Thanks also for doing your nails for the video. So many don't and it makes the tutorial almost unwatchable.
Lol are you for real? Amazingly informative video full of passion and positivity here free to watch but you say had the lady not gotten a manicure before filming you would call it “unwatchable”? Really? Well, you must be a special kind of princess.
Thank you so much for this information on this new clay. I am really a virgin in metal clay, only having made just a very few things. With the turmoil that has been in our extended family (both in-laws have dementia) I really have not had a lot of time to work on my vast amount of projects. Now with the FS999 I can get started again and use my kiln which I have never fired in the year and a half that I have had it. I've only used my little pot kiln and my torch thus far, so now, look out world, Michael's going to blow the silver clay world up, (yeah right). Really though, thank you for this new clay.
I took a class in high school it was so fun!i learned so much! Cotten tail creations was the shop i first tried it at! Then i found another instructor who i actually worked a summer , but she wasn't as willing to teach as she said she would or felt like she was holding back alot of info , but any way im glad i found this channel! You remind me of the fist classes i took i hope to be doing this again soon! 🤗🤗
Truly enjoyed your presentation; I am now so eager to try this media, after beading; so - many thanks for making all aspects clear, giving encouragement, showing your beautiful flower necklace!
Absolutely gorgeous Deb. Really love that pendant with the seed beads, they really show it off in all it's glory. Beautiful. Great video too. Thank you for sharing. The gold plating? Is that the same as keum boo or is it the gold stuff in the pot which you paint on? Thank you.
Hi Helen, this is gold plating using a gold solution and disposable pen. You can find it here: www.cooltools.us/The-Wizard-Disposable-Pen-Plater-p/gld-500.htm Thanks for watching!
Very interesting. The only problem that I would run into is the strength. Fine silver is ok with necklaces and smallish earrings, but won't hold up well on fingers or wrists. Especially how rough I am in my rings and bracelets. Interesting concept though. BTW-the ring she is wearing, was it made out of FS999? Wouldn't mind seeing a "how to vid" on that. Thanks!
Good morning, I’ve just found you, I’m just starting my silver clay journey, so excited to get started.. loving your videos Thankyou for sharing.. I’m intrigued by collecting the dust filings and wander where I can find your video mentioned on how to make into the paste? Thankyou ☺️
Hello, so happy to hear you found us! Creating paste from dust collection is as easy as adding water until it reaches the paste consistency you'd like. If you're interested in watching a quick video on reconstituting dried metal clay, you can find it here: cooltools.us/collections/product-video-how-to-reconstitute-clay-using-a-mortar-and-pestle
thanks for the great vid im in the mood to buy some more silver clay and now i can order a new product from yall! i just love your store and love these instructional videos. hugs!
The most amazing thing.,as far as I can see, is the lack of lubricant!. It also seems to have a longer working time: that is the bane of my life as I'm finding it very difficult to work as fast as the clay dictates.. It would be useful to know whether oil isneeded and what the approx working time is please? Thank you for sharing.
Hi Lynette, because of this clay's extreme flexibility, oil is not needed as compared to PMC3 products. The approximate working time is similar to other fine silver clays. Hope this helps!
I love the flower. You could also put a tube bail on top or at the top on the back to thread the thick necklace cord through. Can this clay be fired with a torch and if so, how long does it take to sinter fully that way?
Hello, FS999 can be torch fired. You should reach a a bushy red glow and continue at this temperature/glow for a full 5 minutes or more, depending on the size of the project. Hope this helps!
Hi David, you can fire FS999 with our without the vent plug in. For more information on firing, please see the firing guide here: www.cooltools.us/v/vspfiles/assets/images/Article%20FS999%20Instructions%208%2023%202017.pdf Hope this helps!
Hi Tasha, the bail and the flower piece were fired together. The bail is able to move along the necklace because of the space between the inside of the bail and the necklace. I hope this helps!
Good presentation however she says it's ok for torch firing and I suspected not after hearing the temp for kiln firing, upon reading the instructions it says to not use the torch firing method. Glad I read before buying.
Hi Michelle, since the filming of this, we have reformulated FS999 and it is no longer torch fireable. If you're looking for a torch fireable clay, we recommend Phoenix Torch Fireable Clay: www.cooltools.us/Phoenix-Torch-Fireable-Clay-p/ptc-025-p.htm There is an introductory video on the product page that introduces just about everything there is to know about this clay. Hope this helps!
Hello, this piece is gold plated with a Pen Plater. You can find this product here: www.cooltools.us/search_results_a/352.html?Search=wizard+plater&Submit=Search Have a good day!
I am trying silver clay myself, and its not turning orange in the firing process. I am using a firing torch. Does this mean the torch is not strong enough? Pls help me :(
Hi Jeannine, yes, metal clay can be soldered after firing. It is much easier however to paste the metal together before the pieces are fired instead of soldering. Thanks for watching!
Hi Elario, yes, you can set stones in metal clay. We have many videos on doing this. You can find them here: www.cooltools.us/Metal-Clay-Product-Videos-Articles-s/2338.htm Thanks for watching!
Hello, we do not currently have any plans to create a 24k gold clay, but if you are looking for a gold clay, we would recommend Art Clay: www.cooltools.us/Art-Clay-Gold-Clay-22K-3-gram-p/acs-700.htm Hope this helps!
Metal clay does stick, so silicone molds are recommended for use with metal clay. If you're using another material, CoolSlip is recommended to prevent sticking. Hope this helps!
Hello, here is a link to the FS999 Firing Guide: www.cooltools.us/v/vspfiles/assets/images/Article%20FS999%20Instructions%208%2023%202017.pdf Have a good day!
Hello, this video is outdated and FS999 can no longer be torch fired, as noted in the description. There are other torch fireable metal clays, such as Phoenix which requires firing with a torch for 3 - 5 minutes. You can find this clay and its introductory video here: cooltools.us/collections/phoenix-torch-fireable-clay%E2%84%A2/products/phoenix-torch-fireable-clay%E2%84%A2 Thanks for watching!

Hi Lou, fine silver is recommended for earrings and necklaces, or pieces that do not take much abuse. For pieces such as bracelets and rings, or pieces that do take abuse, sterling silver is recommended. Hope this helps!

Silver metal clay does not rust, but just like any other silver it may tarnish. This is an easy fix with some polishing! If you have any other questions we are always happy to help - 888.478.5060 or sales@cooltools.us :)
Should better show everything..fireing and poliahing and puting wire etc than standing and talking and talking..bla bla bla i did this and than i did that..How beginner will really know really if first time doing? Why talking what you did and not showing? What she showed id be able to do with common sense why not showing more complicated stuff?
