Looks like my kind of mouse to be honest. Had the 711 for a while, currently rocking Endgame Gear XM1

Just got this mouse and I love it. Pretty much ticks all the boxes I needed from a spec and physical standpoint. My only minor gripe is the limited binding options with the software. Like I can't bind volume controls on the side buttons (and even manually doing it via recording macros can't since it doesn't detect the FN key) but aside from that, I'm incredibly impressed here.

That’s a really comprehensive leaflet they have included, nice to see they didnt take the lazy route of just doing a downloadable manual.

Dual bluetooth and wireless dongle is really good as being able to connect via bluetooth makes it a lot more versatile.

cracking looking mouse. i have had two cooler master mice and rate them well, even the software doesnt seem to use as many processes as my last razer one

Love seeing less plastic used in packaging, the sooner when there is no plastic in packaging the better.

I own an MM731 that I picked up for just over 20 quid, its a decent mouse... wheel is very notchy and rough. Wish the QC was a bit better, left side creaks a little bit when grabbing the mouse but hey its wireless and it cost me 25 quid inc postage.

Looks like a quality mouse quite like the single RGB zone as it’s not over the top.

I have a MM731. Quality control is really bad. I had to replace my first one because the scroll wheel broke (started scrolling randomly in all directions). The second mouse's scroll wheel came loose and I had to glue it back. The RGB LED cannot be turned off! When plugged, after 5 minutes it will always light up in green constantly no matter what color you set in software or if you try to turn it off. I got it for 30 euros so I can live with it but it will be very hard for me to purchase any other Cooler Master mice in the future.

Yeah my buddy had the same issue, but he got it replaced and the other one, so far has been fine. I think it was maybe a bad batch. Certainly would make you ponder another one though as you say

Is their software any good?
@eniff2925
@eniff2925 Год назад
@@larwiemcdonnel5322 It is fine, you can set up everything like in other vendor's software. Features are just as extensive or maybe even a bit more (mouse click response time settings is something I haven't seen in other software). After setup I haven't really touched the software because it saved all settings onto the mouse and I don't need it running in the background. My only problem as I have said is the firmware: the battery charge status led cannot be turned off at all. It annoys me as most of the time I use it plugged in. I contacted CM about this but I doubt this is high on their priority list if ever. This should be changable in the software in my opinion.

pretty looking mouse, and while £60 is still a lot for a mouse, in 2022, it seems reasonable. I wouldnt have said that 2 years ago.

I'd be interested to know the size difference between this and the MM710... I enjoyed using that for a year or two until I got sick of my cat sitting on the cable and switched to a Logitech G305, and if the 712 has a similar shape and size to the 710 but wireless with a battery and solid shell it'd be worth looking at if/when I get bored with the Logitech.

razor's (and logitech) wireless tech is also top tier where as cooler master has had noticeable bad latency issues with other wireless mouses. for example of another mouse youtube search "Wireless Trash - Cooler Master MM731"

Sorry, Mat, but you REALLY need to fix your camera position. I don't want to spend the video looking up your chin and nose. Yes, the camera is pointing at the mouse, but when you are speaking our eyes are on your face. Please put the camera at face level, angled down to include the product. Leo, Luke, and Dominic manage it.

The built in battery is a major flaw imo. It’s 2022 and batteries should be rechargeable and replaceable AA or AAA.
@eniff2925
@eniff2925 Год назад
I think the reason for that is it adds weight.
@KitGuruTech
@KitGuruTech Год назад
We see where you're coming from, for a general duties mouse that makes sense, but I think for an FPS mouse that's designed to be as light as possible, you'll be able to make a much smaller rechargeable internal battery than a AA or even AAA. Logitech G305 may interest you though!
@Capyrkeys
@Capyrkeys Год назад
I get that, but even in that case the battery is not replaceable. Maybe it doesn’t need to be a standard battery (even tho it makes replacement easy), but company’s should offer replacements and should be called out for not providing them. I enjoy your reviews and appreciate your unbiased opinion, but even if something is a industry standard, doesn’t mean it’s a good thing. My current mouse is a Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed (replaceable AAA or AA) and I came from a Roccat Kain 200 Aimo. The internal battery of the Aimo died after 2 years and I can only replace it with a battery from the aftermarket, wich frankly may not be as safe to use as the original.

@@eniff2925 yeah it is the reason, they have opted for lightness as much as possible
@hairsprungdutchtechnique9626
I think rechargeable is fine, reason is to save space and weight in this case.
