Cooler weather assists wildfire battle in Fort McMurray 

There are 45 active wildfires in the province, mainly concentrated in northern Alberta with two out of control fires declared in the County of Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray. On Tuesday evening, a wildfire that was initially spotted on Thursday about 25 kilometres southwest of Fort McMurray has grown to nearly 21,000 hectares in size as of Wednesday morning forcing over 6,000 residents to evacuate.
