Hey everyone, I wanted to address something upfront. I know some of you might be concerned about me not unplugging the battery at the beginning of opening up the Steam Deck. I could have easily edited that part out, but I chose to leave it in to show that I'm human and make mistakes too. I genuinely hoped the device wasn't damaged afterward. Less than a minute into cleaning the chip, I realized my error and promptly unplugged the battery (you can see it in the video). I'm grateful for everyone who watches these videos and supports me in my learning journey. It's important to note that I undertake these projects fully aware of the risks involved, but it's my passion to learn and grow. As the saying goes, "you can't be successful at anything until you try." Thank you all for being a part of this journey and for your continued support!
I appreciate the fade in and out of the music for when you're speaking. Let's see what the results of your testing are! I've heard the same thing about liquid metal. I had an asus G17 laptop with liquid metal. I sold it about a year ago and never had a problem with it
Thank you so much for watching. Yeah. I was getting better performance out of the liquid metal. Don't know what to do now.... if to just re metal it or just put regular paste on it. I don't use it much.... ahh lol
It's safe to say if you've already been notified about the battery issue. However, you're not to handle the kryosheets with bare hands! Doing so, you can introduce oils and other contaminants that will negatively affect Its function. To keep expectations within reason, kryosheets were never intended to outdo paste or liquid. Their purpose is more of a set-it-and-forget-it to reduce the need to reapply paste or liquid every 2 to 3 years (low maintenance) with decent temperatures.
Thank you so much for watching ! If you look at my other videos, I went back and changed it back to liquid because I read alot about this. Thank you so much for watching
Hi! Thank you so much for watching ! I did unplug the battery, I realized it maybe 1 min into cleaning the thing, I was like oh shit lol. I'm not sure if that was always clear copper.. but are you not suppose to ?
@@aduditsky Interesting, thank you for that insight. Could be the reason why cooling is not so good with the kryosheet. I am learning as i go so i do appreciate. Might need to get a new pipe you think?
@@3nv7Tech You can get rid of liquid metal build-up on a copper pipe by polishing, but it is still better to buy a new cooling system for your steamdeck. Also, don't forget to put gaskets and coat the cooling surface with nickel if you apply liquid metal again.
Dude, this is awesome information ! Thank you so much. I think for now I'm going to polish it and reapply a kryosheet and see how that holds. Thank you again !
I did enjoy the video! It was an interesting one because I have never seen someone do something like this. And I thought the liquid metal would be worse. Turns out i was wrong.
