@@raymondny123 Cry about it dude! I'm willing to bet if it was a song racist against white people you'd be laughing at how funny and true it was. People are allowed to make fun of each other. People live stereotypes. It's not like they were created from thin air. As long as you're making racist music and not out there creating racist hate crimes, I see nothing wrong with it. These people have freedom of speech, thought, and feelings just like anybody else. It's a good tune and I'm willing to bet it's a whole lot more than you could ever play or compose. I encourage you make your own "racist" song and make fun of anyone you want. It's fine. we will all survive.
@@myahcross4592 Itching to get mad at? Not at all. If more people had common sense there wouldn't be any reason to be mad at all. I just thought I'd say what needed to be said. I don't see how it was angry but more from the heart.
Probably because it's over a century old. There is no way the person who wrote it is still alive. It becomes a piece of history that can be put in its proper context and examined as a piece for its place and time.
I went to another site to find the words ... wound up at the website for the University of Mississippi. They point out that this is our history. I love ragtime. The lyrics I could do nicely without, to say the least.
here are some real "Musical Gems" hidden in songs we could never get away with today as the Lyrics would be considered "Racist". I collect old music myself and put them on MIDI just to hear the MUSIC behind them, which is often quite good. Too bad racist lyrics were so much in fashion in the early 1900s.
This is by no means "racist". It was an evolution of music called, "coon music" or "coon songs"...which led directly to ragtime, jazz, blues and rap music. To claim racism is PRESENTISM or HISTORICAL PARTICULARISM (in anthropological terms)....a logical fallacy judging past cultures by your own modern day standards. This music (without lyrics...most coon songs have lyrics) was an evolution, which accepted black culture into "normal society", that led directly to the harlem renaissance. Without this music we would not have blues, jazz, ragtime or rap today.
Really? Are you that programmed you have to start a "racial BS" fight just cause you have listened to brainwashing since inception? btw what do I hear. . .? . . . chirp chirp chip The real question is are you even smart enough to understand what's going on in a larger picture? Of that I'd wager against!
Actually you're correct!! "Colored people" at this time period were ALWAYS republican, since that party freed the slaves in 1865. Colored people CREATED coon songs in the late 1800s with the kentuckian ernest hogan, which led to ragtime, blues, jazz and rap. The democratic party enslaved black people, hence the American Civil War. For 100 years, after the Civil War, black peoples were republican.
it is 11/24/23 12:05 AM Eastern Standard time, as i am writing this, this video has 666 likes. I really want to like it, but I also don't want to fuck that up. if its possible the poster should lock likes so it stays that way
It is wonderful to know that the folks who enjoyed this song in 1900 are dead and in Hell. Let's hope that those who try to revive all that hate will soon join their forebears.
You do realize that saying the G-word to people whom has red-orange hair, and red-orange freckles is literally offensive, and very disrespectful, right? 😕 @@EliChristman
@@jasonsamuelcromwellii5346 offense is taken, not given. And my grandmother was ginger. And I have ginger strands in my beard... I think that makes me a day walker. I'm OK with it. I forgive myself.
If that music from 1900 AD/CE is kid-friendly/family-friendly, and it's the 21st century, then the creator/writer of this music should've changed the name of the title-sequence considering the fact that the name of the title itself is very racist, and offensive to Afro-Americans alike. (no disrespect/no pun intended)
I see alot of people dont know who Gene Jefferson is 😂 Imagine claiming a satirical song written by a black man about how black he is, is offensive and racist toward black people 😂 Next youll claim Nick Cannon is a white supremacist for making black jokes on Wild n Out.
