Stiles and Azel has their first successful hunt together tonight. It was a big step for the new team! Stiles is really coming into his own as a bird dog
Thanks! It's been a while since I got some decent hunting footage. This is Azel, my male coopers hawk. He was a hand-me-down adult imprint coopers hawk when I got him, but he had never been hunted. He's been my project bird for a few seasons, but it wasn't until this season that I chose to really focus on him and try to get him hunting consistently. He's not the best hunter, but he's finally starting to catch with some regularity and is working well over my new setter. It's fun to see them working together. But this will be my final season with him, as I don't think he's very well suited for valley quail. I've maxed out his potential and am ready to try another bird.
@@Nadira320 Well I got to tell you, you did a good job with that Cooper's Hawk, and that video is also awesome. What about Kai, is he still in the picture?
I used to gun hunt under an English Setter. There is nothing like it when they lock up in point. Unfortunately, where I live, other than stocked pheasants there are no other real opportunities for pointers that would produce enough game to keep the Hawk happy.
