The offensive skillset is a bit more raw than the hype coming out of the USA Select appearance would lead you to believe. But the defensive baseline is so high I understand why people are getting so excited.
I don’t think he’s that raw. I believe his shooting can be elite even though it’s unorthodox looking. Only flaw he got offensively is the ball handling and even with that his handles are pretty good, he got a lot of moves off the dribble. The flaw in his handles is that he dribbles a little high & doesn’t get low enough and struggles at times dribbling through traffic. But he got all the crossovers, the in & out dribbles and stopping on a dime moves in his arsenal. Offensively people are unsure about him cause he’s not a super ball dominant ISO player, he’s more of a connector & a guy that scores within the flow. But I feel when he gets the opportunity to be relied upon as a 1st option player he can do it, he’s just not your typical 1st option player style of play wise

An underrated part of his game no one talks about is he’s a good off ball player he doesn’t need the ball in his hands the whole game too be effective he’s impactful without the ball too kinda like curry

Most valuble skill in the sport is individual shotmaking ability, Coop doesnt look generational on that end. All time defensive talent though, and clearly a very good offesnive player

VJ Edgecombe is deserving of rave reviews! His work as the leading scorer for the Bahamian Men’s National Basketball Team playing amongst NBA players Eric Gordon, Buddy Heild, and DeAndre Ayton was eye opening to say the least. He looked like a pro who could step onto an NBA team and play as an elite off guard. He’s a more athletic KCP with more playmaking ability.
Ace can be better but he has to play smarter. He takes too many contested middies instead of getting to the rim. We’ll see what happens at Rutgers this year
