I saw Skillet for the first time 20 years ago at a little HS in Syracuse NY called Faith Heritage. Your wife and daughter were both on stage since your wife was pregnant! What a blessing to see our children prosper and grow in the knowledge of the Lord! Thanks for having her on today and giving me hope for her generation!! Praying Jesus uses her mightily!

Beautiful “old school” wisdom at minute 42…the age-old statement of “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” still stands true. Well done Alex, show them Christ’s love while standing firm in your faith/knowledge. God bless!

When I have an idea that my answer to a question will offend someone, I let them know that they need to be sure they want to hear my answer because I will truthfully answer in my belief, and they may not like the answer. I then allow them to retract the question. Great discussion! I think this needs to happen again.

You must be so proud of your beautiful daughter! A special young lady for sure. She's really got her head on straight and I'm so happy to hear she's working with young girls in your church. Young girls desperately need good role models these days, so they can grow up to become good role models. Praying the Lord brings a girl like this into my son's life!

I live in Seattle, WA and this culture y'all are talking about is running wild here. I'm 23 and it's very difficult traversing this jungle sometimes but luckily there are a bunch of churches scattered here that thankfully are still teaching sound doctrine BUT a lot of churches have started converting to Post Modernistic Christianity. God's been giving my wife and I strength to keep our faith as we study and learn from the Bible more and more. This is a very encouraging podcast that I started listening to in 2020 and is still doing great!

What a wise young woman! I'm happy you raised your daughter right, John. There are some parents who abandoned their children, or spoiled them, idolize them, doesn't correct their poor behaviors, and it is not love. 10 years ago, my faith wasn't strong until I grown. I was in college in 2013 to 2017, and those 4 years, I seen my life changed, and so does society. Alex's experiences are more challenging than mine. It sucks that Christians like ourselves get blasted every time when we share our beliefs. I'm tired of it. Your conversation encourages me to keep seeking God, no matter what happens. We are going to win souls, whatever it takes.

What an awesome conversation! And a source of hope as I’m raising younger kids currently. I was a teacher in a small Christian school before I had kids, and I became so incredibly discouraged as I watched over 50% of them leave the faith during or after college. Even though we taught sound Biblical doctrine in the high school! 💔. But what I saw happening was I think they mostly went into college just assuming everything they would be taught (from teachers and peers) would be true. They didn’t go in ready for the battle with the armor of God and that broke my heart. I think families and churches were/are entirely unprepared and far too ready to be relevant at all costs and syncretize to the world and we’re losing our young adult children to compromise and cultural pressure. Praise God for Alex!! What a strong example of what it means to go out into the world with your lamp lit and your armor on. Almost brings tears to my eyes!

"I think the parents don't know the answers to these questions either." Hit the nail on the head!! I grew up in a Christian home, but it was assumed the church would teach the children - so I didn't really learn about doctrine, theology or apologetics from my parents. Unfortunately I grew up in an unbiblical church that is now considered apostate - which in turn lead me to be a false convert for 17 years. Thankfully, by God's great mercy, He saved me 3 years ago! Because of God's mercy I am able to teach and catechize my children to know Biblical truths. My kids are almost 16 & 17 and have been homeschooled their whole lives. They have expressed no desire to attend college which I am honestly thrilled about LOL. But if they ever changed their mind, I know they are prepared like Alex. To God be the Glory! #sdg

I’m 17 right now, and during my whole life my parents told me that teachers would try to convince us to think that the communism and liberalism are good things, and so they did, but i was aware of it so i never really believed in it, and now i just enrolled in the medical school, I actually thought it would be different, but it was more of the same, and now I realized that almost everybody in my generation was brainwashed by those teachers and other influent people, and even after reaching the adult age we still have to stay aware that they will try their best to make us more distant from god, hyper sexualized and superficial people, not just in the US but all around the world, as i live in Brazil and I know that the exactly same thing happens in other countries…

Alex is very brave for coming on and discussing these issues. I am so proud of her! She is clearly very smart, and I'm sure has already thought about the possible reaction she may get from her school mates and teachers for this interview, and has made the decision (correctly) that speaking TRUTH is worth whatever response may come. It is always right to stand for Jesus! I pray that God will continue to work in her life, and continue to give her courage to stand up and do the right thing in a sea of people who are going to try and convince her to do the wrong thing.

As a mom of teens, this is terrifying. They have been raised in a strong Christian home. Know not only what we believe but also why we believe. They have been raised in Biblically based churches and attended AWANA from Puggles to Journey so they know scripture inside and out…yet the world’s values compete and I don’t have confidence they will reject the world for truth. Also, it’s hard to not feel responsible (mom guilt) that I must have done something wrong. Strange when I was raised in a “seeker sensitive” mega church where no one I know from there walks with the Lord today and my hubby was raised Hindu yet we are strong in our Biblical beliefs…which means it wasn’t our parent’s responsibility. Still NOTHING is more terrifying to me then that my kids will reject Christ.

Coopers’, great podcast! I have to add that when we look at Paul, we have to ask why God chose him to proclaim the gospel to the gentiles who all empowered idol worship over say any of the 12 disciples, and I can’t help but to think the intellect knowledge he possessed actually had something to do with it. Paul was a man equipped with the knowledge of the world before God stepped in his path. He was filled with a humanistic gnostic type of worldview beforehand, which allowed him to go to speak to those who had strong faith in their gods and idols. He could really show the reasoning to those who reject based on faith alone. For this I put emphasis on the point of knowing our enemy and the reasoning of our own faith. I mean we should certainly have it without the proof, but the substance we gain proves our faith along the way and empowers us to evangelize it to people where they stand not simply where we stand. I am a fan of how Francis Shaeffer once spoke on this matter. There is no bringing people to the true living Jesus Christ today without meeting them where they are, meeting them at the well and allowing the Word of Truth to keep them out of the pit. Yes, times were different years ago, but today debate simply isn’t there. As mentioned in this podcast, they want to know your opinion only to play out the dialectic, to hopefully get you to deconstruct. People stand firm in their false subjective experiences, not knowing that they are driven by false narratives by the unseen forces that control it, because when your foundation isn’t on the rock that is Jesus Christ, one is subject to everything, and everything has its own objective truth at the top. In their case although allowing someone to be say queer or have an abortion, or whatever one chooses, imprisons and takes away freedom with its own truth through force. Everything and everyone is a useful tool until it isn’t needed, then they must bite their own tail. We see this in the lgbtq movement with the gay community not being enough, because they still identify as say a male or female now. Both sides have objective truth and on the left, the deception of confusion is used to scatter peoples beliefs, they are being led like sheep to the slaughter, to a new truth that they all unify under. This would include the dei model they use in our schools and places of work. Inclusion does not mean teamwork. If they were all given a list to check off, a hive mind would certainly be prevalent more and more as we go forward in time. On the other hand the chaff is being separated from the wheat! God Bless!!
