You know I'm in a wheelchair I wasn't born when the dukes of hazard was on TV I was born in 82 so I was born a couple of years after the end of the show I'm a huge fan of The dukes of Hazzard my dream car is a 1969 Dodge charger 440 Magnum with 375 horsepower at the rear wheels done up like the general Lee I wish I could have had the chance to own the general Lee if I ever get the chance to go to Gatlinburg Tennessee to cooter's place I'm definitely going to go and I'm definitely going to spend some money and buy some dukes of Hazzard merchandise it's one of my favorite shows I own every single season I would just love once to ride in the general Lee thank you Mr Ben Jones for putting this museum together and if you're there when I go I would love to shake your hand cuz this show The dukes of Hazzard was just down home country fun and I thank you from the bottom of my duke heart and I very much playing to spend some money and most of all getting my picture taken inside my dream car 1969 general Lee Dodge charger
Sonny Shroyer also played in Smokey and the bandit, he was one of the motorcycle police officers who pulled over Jerry Reed doing 90 on the interstate when Burt Reynolds and Sally Fields pulled up and Sally Fields flipped him the middle finger.
Thanks for sharing The picture with the two General Lee cars might have been taken during the Dukes Reunion Maby CBS Stuido Lot where the show was filmed in the 80s
So glad the good ol' boys are still shown on television in my country! Whenever times get tough I can just escape to hazzard county for a while! Soon as all this settles down, I may just have to come check that museum out!
ive been there its awesome place to see and visit i like it dukes of hazzard was my favorite tv show when i was a kid still love it now i have all 7 seasons on DVD
I was on a Navy base in Long Beach years ago when I was a kid. I saw a General Lee there and I was awestruck or star struck. One day I'll have one too rollin' on the 405fwy in California. Lol!
I love this video. I still watch the Duke boys all the time. One of the best classic tv shows of all time. Would love to see that place but I live all the way up in Canada.
I like to check the other ones out. I've only been to the one in Gatlinburg and the one in Pigeon Forge which are the same. It moved from Gatlinburg up to Pigeon Forge.
Things you called jello molds are happy meal boxes. You ordered a kids meal and it came in the Dukes style car box and a matching drink cup. Each week for a month you got a different one. General being last offered, of course!!
We recently passed near by on a roadtrip but to my eternal sadness we didn't have enough time to detour over there. Thanks for doing a video tour of what it's like!
Hi, WOW it's really an awesome museum. I live in France, very far of your country but I grew up with Dukes Of Hazzard and I dream to see this incredible museum, maybe one day... I would like to thank you for this sharing, your video is awesome. God bless you +1
It was awesome because I was in that very place and the guy who ran the go karts gave 1 free turn (which we had already had about 2 that were paid for) and he gave us all free pictures in the General Lee which was a awesome and very kind of him to do that guy was awesome!
Interesting place. Thanks for sharing. I'm surprised they listed Uncle Jesse's house as being in Covington, GA though. It's a mile from my house, at 2201 Lenora Rd., in unincorporated Loganville, GA.
Fun place to visit. This one is closed now, and re-opened in Pigeon Forge, but I don't think they have the go-kart racing at the new one. The one in Nashville is great, also.
Yeah, no go-karts at the new Pigeon Forge location but from a business point, P.F. should be a better location. Paid parking was a drawback for some folks and parking in Gatlinburg is at a premium.
@@paulmcgo1089 Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are both tourist meccas with a tongue of kitschy goodness! I'm not sure if there's a guide but if you look them up online or RU-vid you'll find a ton of stuff to do.
I've got pics of my friends and I in that car. We sold a vehicle to the movie company when they were filming in Baton Rouge and they let us look at all the cars.
I was probably having a low blood sugar moment when I rambled some kind of gibberish out. I did have the old school satellite in high school or as I call it, the poor man's Challenger.
Those ones you said you had never seen before were Dukes of Hazzard happy meals from McDonald's. The meal cam in a plastic car instead of the regular box.
Those were not Jello molds, they special McDonald's happy meal boxes, the box is the toy, it came with a sheet of stickers for the decals to put on the car.
Awesome!!! I didn't go to Cooters in Tennessee . I went to the Luray, Virginia location this past September. It wasn't as big as Gatlinburg, but it was still fun, and we grabbed up some great keep sakes.
My wife's grandpa was the owner of the property that Dukes of hazard filmed on. My son and I gotta picture setting in the General Lee with Ben Jones standing next to the car.
I have to tend to agree with you on the general lee that year of charger was a beautiful body on the outside but the inside of the new chargers and the quality of interior is so much better today than it was in the 70s
@@AimlessAdventuresVlog Ohhhhh... okay. Thanks. Well, you know, you can go back and click the vertical line of dots to the right of your first comment, select "edit", and then correct your comment by adding the word "wing". Then if you want, you can also select "delete" for these latter three "back-and-forth" messages, so that it can just be my initial praising comment and your reply that's left. :)
@@AimlessAdventuresVlog if I knew how to get pics from my phone and post here I would..but I'm on Facebook and have alot of pics on my profile of all the displays and with the cast..feel free to look and go head and borrow ,share if you want to .if it inspires even one person to create something it's worth it
It's heartbreaking to see how many of them got trashed and how difficult it is to afford one nowadays. My dream car is the 1969 Dodge Charger RT in full General mode. If I ever hit the lottery you can bet I'll be tearing it up in a General! 🤜💥
@@ANGELICHUMANANGEL I've seen that vehicle in Vegas before. Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars had Counts Kustoms build him the Bullitt Mustang ... it's SICK!
☆ CAEN MYLES SINGER SONGWRITER ☆ the family that own it the original sold at auction to someone on phone bidding for it for 2.4 million last week 1/2020 jt🇺🇸🐟🎣🌴⛱🛥😊😃🙏🏻
I think that's just the mop copy of the General Lee cuz original General Lee's used to show at roll bars NH car especially for some of the stunt drivers that drove they were ride cruise I think the cars what did the jumps and stuff according to John Schneider so yeah that's not the original General Lee if you watch through the episode you'll notice to be bars on the inside on some of the cars they used due to the jumps
Just the good ole boys! Cooters is a awesome place to visit in TN! Love East Tennessee! I always go and film a bunch of videos up in TN for my channel! Great video, I subscribed! Keep on making awesome videos!
I been there but looks improved last time was there. Dukes of hazzard was best show to watch kid or adult. I never thought of it as racist show. Cant believe people thought it was to take off the air. It was a family show brought familys together in the same room. It was the only time nobody talked just yee!! haw!!! Kind of reminded me how things was in my home town. As kids bunch of us would slide sideways racing down gravel dirt road on the farm with a junker car.what fun it was.
John Schneider said there were no standard general Lee’s but a couple didn’t have roll cages. I thought I remembered seeing a stick in one episode. I wonder if that one really is one of a kind but real. The fuel cap is not legit for the ‘year’ of the general lee. Fuel was on the next model year.
@@AimlessAdventuresVlog You're welcome. Thx for posting that, as I'll most likely never get out that way. I'm in Az...Was reading further and someone said they are from McDonalds...ummm. Be interesting to find out for sure. Anyway, was wondering if you have some helpful info on this. Are all the DOH box sets the same? I see some at $99 and others at half that price. Thx!
@@AimlessAdventuresVlog No problem man, I've always loved the Dukes of Hazzard and I went there when I was 5. Recently I went to Cooter's Place's new location and I have to say the old one is better. Mini golf AND go karts. The new one is basically just a store. Still enjoyed it but the old one appeals more to my 5 year old self.
According to the owner of this General it's a show used original. Not all doors were welded on every Charger. They used different configurations depending on what the shot required.
D Fields well. It’s the ‘wrong year’. The new challenger is designed on ‘71-‘74 model. The General Lee is a 1969 design. So if someone DID do one it would actually be wrong. 👍
