This man attended every single one of her birthdays since the day he saved her. I can understand why she sees him as her second father. He even refers to her as his little girl in the interview.
Remember this: The human race is not willing to evolve unless it is forced or extremely revolutionary. Just like people, we wont want to become something, unless it greatly benefits ourselves.
It was a different world 20 years ago; in our current modern society people cannot help others without fearing being sued or risk getting ridiculous accusation.
Please note: the Christian cop sends Christmas cards to the Muslim lady. And she appreciated everyone of the cards. In the end, there is enough room and love for all type of kindness.
Most do.... it's people saying they don't that is causig the stir... I was in corrections for a bit... mentored a few guys and I still talk with them here and there...to make sure they are doing good and staying on the good path... Got to hear one guy I really hoped to shake the criminal path got to reconnect with his daughter,.. and she is the focus point of keeping in working and stay out of trouble.... Point is.. when you see a story about a bad cop... make sure you get the full story before you judge..... cause many times you are only seeing the story from a criminals eyes.
45 years???? Makes me think of my own dad... He’s 77 and still working for the same boss for 51 years and counting... Not because he has to... But because he loves what he does...
If you pause this video at 1:23 and see all those medals this incredible police officer has earned over the years, you can see how it is no surprise that he has done good for the community and for humanity in his career.
@@xninja2369 they are badges they get when they reach a rank as well as special honors such as those who were there during 9/11. In other words he's highly qualified and highly respected
May this officer be eternally blessed for his heroic efforts and being part of a family to which he isn't biologically related to. Sometimes, you don't have to be blood to be family 🙏🏻
Surprising to see how the mother in the 90s was so westernized, but now she is wearing the hijab. She must have become radicalized. Now more Muslims will be born in the US and we're in trouble.
I'm amazed to see an officer who stays in touch. He goes above and beyond that by not missing her birthday and sends cards with a cheque for Christmas! He traveled a distance for her wedding too so she clearly means something to him. No wonder the girl sees him as a 2nd father. We barely hear stories like this. I thought he would be so used to saving many different lives through out his job and wouldn't remember the victims properly or be in touch with them but he has with this girl. It's so beautiful to see this. This officer is a lovely person
I think both are very lovely people, the officer and the girl, and of course the girl's family. To prepare a large meal for an officer, a chair and a table and to have everyone sit together and socialize was amazing. I really appreciate the uploader and the news crew who made this video available for everyone to see. This was very wholesome. This cop did an outstanding job saving her 20 years ago and not missing a single birthday that he sends her gifts, and she seems super charming. It's nice to hear stories like that, where wonderful people come together like that.
There are many, many officers who are kind and caring as this one is, but the trouble makers in this world turn them into cops protecting the public for which they are trashed constantly by the dirt bags.
Love this. In the 60s, my granddad (rookie cop at the time) saved a baby who stopped breathing. After he passed away, I found a letter from her parents to the police commissioner. They said he immediately grabbed her and gave her CPR for 30m straight until more help arrived, including a doctor (this was the 60s). He would not give up on her. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had a successful surgery and was doing well. They were so grateful for him and said they tried to make donations to the police benevolent fund etc and my granddad refused them.. he was just doing his duty and didnt need praise. And to prove it, we never knew all those years until I found the letter tucked away in a binder of his important documents.
Just wait till they outnumbered you and you're kind you will say other wise then. Why do you think nobody wants them in there country because they don't integrated into you're society you integrate in there society.
its nice people of different cultures getting along and being friends now if the rest of the world could be like this gives me glimmer of hope for the future
Mason Officially what? I’m not getting mad because there’s so much misunderstanding which isn’t your fault but actually read the Quran and the actual religion before I say anything Thank you
@Ganga Din honestly speaking where are you from originally 😂😂😂😂 your name seems to be the place where's no toilet at all isn't and please don't take it personal this is for real people's like you.😉
"Not my baby" sounds Exactly like my dad!!! It still HURTS that my dad couldn't walk me down the Aisle!! But my Hubby went to him to ask his blessing to Propose!!! My hubby proposed a Year later at DISNEY.
Why cant everyone get Along like this? I’m a Sikh, by forgetting all the religions we are all the same Human Beings. Beautiful Video. I wish this inspires everyone to love each other.
Jav we are in the end times look at all the things happening around you don’t be blind just because you don’t believe or don’t feel like God doesn’t exist
Aw come on now Jeff! You can't be that cynical if you had tears almost falling! You're probably a big teddy bear at heart...a big softie underneath. lol.
What is up with this comment section everyone is like : "She is beautiful" "Why is she wearing a hijab" "Lol I won’t date her she wears a hijab" Etc etc How about talking about how this man saved her and they are still talking after 25 years or talk about that she just got married or something
I'm proud he's from my hometown. Funny, I haven't lived there in decades, but home is home. And I have old friends on the force. Wonder if they know him?
how awesome! anyone notice that one of the brothers looks 100% just like their father in the old footage? I also like how there is still footage of that incident. love this
what are you joking LOL its common muslim practice to kiss once on the cheek and hug. Some places kiss once on each cheek. Its different in each country as the religion is practiced differently. To brand the entire muslim population like that is just pure wrong
oh we have enough "Stories" for infinity. Some evidence of work is much more appreciated. Not raping citizens with unlawful ticketing and trumped up lies is a good place to start. Or not covering up for the other 24,999 cops in NYC would be great. Maybe do not go upstate to shoot deer unlawfully and leave their carcasses unlawfully on the ground. Just stay home and continue to shoot unarmed citizenry in the street, you guys get badges for range time when you do that right?
Surprising to see how the mother in the 90s was so westernized, but now she is wearing the hijab. She must have become radicalized. Now more Muslims will be born in the US and we're in trouble.
This man is the definition of the phrase HERO!!! Many thanks Sgt. and I hope that you and that beautiful baby you saved many years ago have a lifetime of love and happiness together.
This is absolutely beautiful! God is awesome! We are all here for a reason. Nobody is a mistake. What an absolutely breathtaking bride! I’m so glad he was able to help her and see her on her big day!
All of the crummy stories we hear and see about cops these days, it's awesome to see one that got his very sincere "thank you " after all of those years. I, myself, couldn't think of a more flattering way to show appreciation! God bless you, and your marriage young lady! 🙏😁❤👍
It always gets me... i'm already in tears the first minute in. These stories help me walk the line and remind me that everyone was a sweet little baby at one time.
@Cody Shi Joe is my next door neighbour he’s a great guy! But its just his job calm down anyone would do the same thing. I’m sure but Joe especially had to as he had been called to a Job so it become his duty from there
Wow what an amazing story 🙏🏿 I’m glad he was not only able to save the young girl but,I’m also glad that they kept in touch with each other and the fact that they never forget her birthday and sends her gifts is commendable 🙌🏽 after all I guess not al cop stories are bad or have bad endings 💯
I’m seeing this 8 years later, I hope everything is perfect for all of them. What a wonderful story and a lesson for all of us. Peace ✌🏻and love ❤ to all 😊
I also just saw this today December 2023, beautiful real life story! If anyone has any reliable updates on them please post. I pray that this lady who was saved when a baby by this amazing human who was in a prominent job doing what he was supposed to do but went far beyond that, are still thriving🙏🏽
This is too perfect. The song "What the World Needs Now Is Love Sweet Love" Comes to mind as I watched this story. A true hero, a true friend, cultures and people brought together by love. Thank you for much for your service. I hope your retirement years have been fun and relaxing. For Shama, I hope your marriage will bring you as much happiness as mine has. Thank you for sharing your story with the world. Inspiring.
It would be extremely difficult to find a more wonderful man and Police Officer than this genuine hero! The wonderful smile of that utterly gorgeous little baby girl in his arms is beautiful beyond words! To see that beautiful baby, now a beautiful woman embark on the next stage of her life is all because of this man's love for people and his training in lifesaving techniques to better serve and protect the community.
In real life 95 percent of the time there is no issues between different races and religions, if you go on the Internet you would think its 95 percent who have issues
@Ramin Chowdhury Why because of people like her? She made a statement that I'm sure most everyone could get behind (admitting to reality), yet you purposely make a 'gotcha' comment for what purpose? I hope one day you get rid of the hate in your heart, god bless you.
@Ramin Chowdhury Assuming the worst and dismissing/treating someone poorly is a form of hate, not love. You can have hope, but understanding reality is also very important. Have a beautiful day!
There are loads and loads of good cops out there, The trouble IS that mostly it's the rotten apples amongst them who make the news, The others who are a credit to the service, not to mention their training, humanitarian ways AND their upbringing are most often ignored . This at least was a brilliant reminder of what these guys are REALLY like in everyday life, and that's the nicest and most genuine wedding party that I've ever seen. Salutes by the dozen for the officer concerned, and warmest good wishes and congratulations to the bride, groom and their families, both by birth and adoption, ( ie the police officer) and BTW, the expression an officer AND a gentleman applies very strongly in this case, cos that's just what the cop was . An officer and a gentleman
