The USA are decent and should finish second in their group. Unfortunately for them, that likely puts them up against Brazil in the following match. The worrying thing I feel is that the USA shows clear inexperience and lack of tactical nous. You saw them perform at the world cup and then they came up against the Netherlands and they were just easily handled on every level. Outsmarted on top of being outskilled.
They don't at ALL. Their attack may be, but midfielders suck. Gio Reyna Yunus musah and brendan aaronson they play in Europe but can't put on a good performance day in and day out. It brings a question to my head: Why are they in Europe if they can't even start or be a stand-out player. Americans struggle in Europe

His hold up game is poor, His aerial presence is even worse and the only thing he can do is run the channels really well. And what does ggg love to prioritize? Crosses from wide out play from outside to inside which is absolutely absurd bc his two best players in Reyna and puli love to receive the ball on the half turn in the half spaces slightly central, NOT from a wide postion like you mentioned. I think weah can absolutely lock down Diaz bc she locked down Leao all game a month ago and Leao is triple fast compared to Diaz. So on his day weah can be up For that task and with puli on the right weah doesn’t have to create offense for 90 Minutes he can pick his spots.
People mock the idea of USA reaching the semi-finals, but Venezuela achieved this in 2011. It's Copa America, it's harder than AFCON & Asian Cup, but not as tricky as the Euros
USA should be expected to win. It is in USA and none of the other rivals are really stacked. Of course our coach absolutely sucks so if we get to quarterfinals that would be a great result.

A good home team can get to the finals and a team that has trophies under their belt and have home field can win it. That is WC history. Sorry I disagree with having weah as a wingback. Sure he’d do well in the group but once in the quarters that man is gonna get eaten up. I think the US does better with Weah as a winger. At that point why even call up your right backs if you aren’t confident in using them.

Not sure why we’re so tied to a back 4, especially without Dest. Why not go with a 343, with Jedi and Weah as wingbacks. Wes and Gio in the middle with Puli, Wright, and whatever 9 up front. At least try it out in the friendlies.
If they want to beat Brazil, they will have to have there best 11 players on the field. Doesn't matter if a couple of the players have to learn a new position. Dest is a huge loss. We will need Gio, Tyler, McKennie, Musah, and Cardoso on the field at the same time.
Maybe the coach favored MLS players because of financial pressure from US Football officials to boost their league? I mean Copa/WC is a big stage. We know how good tournament performances can boost smaller European clubs.
