I think Canada did a great job, yes, they can do better on shoting but for their first time in Copa America, they are doing good, this experience with playing harder teams will help them to prepare well for the World Cup 2026
Would love to see the Italian ref or any ref from Europe to handle this game. He is excellent. Do not trust most of the other South American refs and specially Argentinian or Paraguayan or Brazilian or Chilean refs. In the Brazil vs Uruguay game, the Argentinian ref was extremely lenient with the Uruguayan players allowing them to use excessive force, when there should have two or more red cards. Best final should be Colombia vs Argentina, with James receiving his best birthday gift of his life - July 14th Colombia Champion. Happy 33rd. Birthday for James.
The ELO rankings of the four Euro semifinalists are 2nd, 3rd, 7th and 8th. The ELO rankings of the four Copa America semifinalists are 1st, 4th, 5th and 31st. Just highlights what an accomplishment it is for Canada to have made it this far… 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦💪
As a Uruguayan, there are 3 things that worry me the most. 1) we don’t have Nandez who would have been great to see against Diaz and has been pivotal in defense for us. 2) Our no 10 Nico is not creating as much in midfield he looked average against Brazil yesterday meanwhile James Rodriguez looks to be assisting everyone. 3) Darwin. He missed a sitter against Brazil yesterday, he fills me with no confidence.
Nunez does miss sitters occasionally, I know as a Liverpool fan, but he’s still developing and can score amazing goals as well. I think he’ll be the match winner. He’ll score on a counter.
I haven't seen Colombia play till this tournament, and they have a lot of style and flow and don't play dirty. What a privilege it would be for Canada to play them.
i think for the uruguay vs colombia game it’ll either be a high scoring victory for colombia or a low scoring win for uruguay. IE: colombia 3-0 Uruguay or Colombia 0-1 Uruguay
I think Colombia would win this tournament. I'm a Lionel Messi fan, I'm also Uruguay La Celeste fan. But look at how Los Cafeteros are performing lately. They're scary good
Uruguay struggles to score goals despite having the ball a ton. I think that will be their undoing against Colombia. Uruguay would have to score 2 goals to beat Colombia and I don’t know if they can.
I have no illusions of beating Argentina, I just want to watch a good match. My dream final is Canada versus Columbia because my daughters bf is Columbian and he has only been in Canada for a year. If they n make it to the finals we will watch the game together.
I don't think it's age that's the issue for Messi, it's that groin injury. Argentina played some of their worst football against Ecuador. Messi not fit, Enzo not fit, De Paul awful, etc. If they play their regular game they should beat Canada pretty easily. The first match could have ended in a 1-4 score or something like that. Canada need Messi to still not be fit, and for Argentina to put down another stinker on the pitch. Colombia will have greatly enjoyed watching the slaughter that was URU vs BRA and should have a solid advantage now that URU have both a critical injury and a red carded player. As the team with the best performing player of the tournament (James Rodriguez) and the best overall team performance of any national team in the world right now, it's Colombia's Copa to lose! #CopaAmericaOverEuros
I wish Canada wins (EDIT) in semi-final (end of EDIT), but Argentina will most likely advance, even in regular time. Though it's not gonna be a cakewalk like Colombia vs Panama. Colombia vs Uruguay. After yesterday I give 60% chances to Colombia. Amazing match, no weak points (even Uribe played well). Everybody aside Lucumi is fit (and his replacement is very good). Uruguay lost Araujo to injury and Nandez to red card. I've only seen highlights from 1st half vs Brazil, but Colombia overall seems better. I am more optimistic about Colombia than I was before tournament and after group stage. Despite the fact Colombia is 3/3 for penalties - I will probably shake and cry from stress if the game goes to penalties. I'm happy with Colombia subs. Most important - Borja got his chance (thankfully not Borre!) and did good. Also Munoz was subed for the 1st time in this Copa with S.Arias who was decent. My dream final is of course Colombia vs Canada. EDIT - oh, and #copaamericaovereuros
If Canada beats Argentina, it would be the biggest upset in football history, PERIOD. I'm Canadian and I'd love to see it but I'm not delusional and I can tell that NO TEAM is going to be a threat to Argentina in this tournament. 65%-35% in favour of Argentina? I would say it's more like 90%-10%. The only team that can beat Argentina is Argentina.
Yeah, Argentina is the world #1 for a reason. But if there was ever an opportunity for a giant upset, it's now. Canada is young, energetic and confident. They don't back down and they believe. Messi isn't 100% and if he plays like he did against Ecuador, that's a giant plus for Canada as he walks while the Canadians sprint. Then there is the 90 minute to direct shoot outs. This benefits Canada as well. The longer the game, the more likely Argentina will win. Argentina also just squeaked by Ecuador so there are certainly cracks to be exploited. If you think Canada has a 1 in 10 chance of winning this game...heck even if it's 1 in 20, I'll take it. Miracles do happen in sport. If Canada can get to penalties, I will be watching through my fingers. So happy for this team!
Canada has the advantage of no expectations, allowing them to be aggressive and take risks. No one is going to fault them for mistakes that cause them to lose. So, if nothing else, the match will be entertaining.
dream final is colombia vs canada, with colombia winning, canada so that us CONCACAF strugglers can have some hope for the future (and some respect to our federation) and colombia winning for my heart. im american but a very close family friend played for the selección back in the 60s, so my heart is always with colombia and with james, what an incredible tournament so far
I was rooting for Darwin & Uruguay, but Colombia led by James, have won me over! I want Colombia to win vs Argentina in the Final! S/O to Canada for making it this far.
Not this time. Argentina will beat decisively Canada and move to the finals. Colombia and Uruguay is a toast. Cafeteros is the best team of the tournament but watch Uruguay playing the same kind of rough game they played against Brazil and anything can happen. In the end I put my money on a Argentina - Uruguay final.
Agreed. Colombia plays really well but I am not sure how they will respond against heavy pressure from a highly physical team which basically will actively try bringing them down to the mud where the Colombian side is weaker. Will be a great match. On the other side, Argentina will pull it off even if they somehow go to penalties, the Argentinians are far more experienced. The only hope for Canada is to score early and somehow survive the onslaugh.
As a canadian. we tied france, we tied chile, we tied venezuela. we had argentina even and puzzled for 60 minutes. we can score and we can hold strong teams back.. if we play OUR game perfectly you never know what happens. we will be better than the first game vs argentina and argentina will as well. Nothing will be left off the pitch, you can beat us but your gonna have to work for every inch. Oh Canada Oh Baby!
Derek Cornelius is not Suspended as accumulated yellow cards are reset after the group stage, Vinicius got suspended since he picked up a yellow card in the game against Paraguay and another one in the game against Colombia which were both in the group stage, either way he was not given a yellow card in 2 successive matches
I think Uruguay will win the Copa, I actually have been saying so since the start of the Tournament, yea even before the first game was even played.... My dream final before the 1st game was played for this year's copa is even Uruguay vs Argentina and it might come true, but to be honest now that I have actually watched the Copa, there's a huge chance for Colombia to make the final so no matter who wins the match, Uruguay who i think will win the Copa or Colombia who ate the Tournament (the study of James Rodriguez rise, fall and new rise has to be studied), I have a feeling whoever will win this match will probably beat Argentina and I know that sounds crazy but that's my current feeling, ask me again after the match has ended 😅❤
I like how your brain thinks but can you perhaps describe as to why your brain thinks like this? Are you biased to any of the countries or any other reasonings?
Canada should stop saying they will play against the referee...stop the excuses and admit your team is weak with poor finishing and cant match top teams like Argentina.
You know, two different things can be true at the same time. The reffing against Canada has been atrocious. Purposeful head butt, obvious grab of the sweater from behind on a breakaway, the Venezuelan goalie grabbing the ball and then hugging the canadian attempting a quick throw in with the goalie 30+ metres from his net, etc. All are "no brainer" yellows or reds or penalties. Poor finishing by Canada, yes! Can't match top teams, yes! See how they can all be true? And Canada did show up against Argentina in the first game, and Peru, Chile, and Venezuela were unable to beat them, so IF the refs call the game fairly at the important moments Canada does have a chance. Not a great one, but still a chance.
Argentina v Uruguay final for me. Colombia have been the team to watch and played the most exciting football, but feel Bielsa knows what Uruguay need to do to beat them. Theres no way Canada will beat Argentina so not even going to suggest they have a chance. They don’t, even without Messi who should be rested for the final and bring Di Maria back in.
@Sccweini_1983 are you done crying yet? Progenitor Preemptive crying is a bold strategy. But totally sounds like someone who would wave a white flag. 🏳
I agree with you. Canada will play very hard but Argentina will prevail. However, Canada will have more scoring chances but not be able to finish. I hope I am wrong. I wish for a fast, clean game, well refereed. I agree it is good for MLS, and a few arrogant fans that think MLS is not high quality and that only good players are in Europe. Now they know, people like Shaffelburg in Nashville is really, really good. It is indeed possible to be good and play in the MLS......And don't be too hard on the American players. They are a good team and will be a very strong force come the World Cup! :)
like what u hv said about euro in previous video, the team that play better football might lose. and i expect that on uruguay. for most of football fans they are the most entertaining team above colombia. but, uruguay suffered heavy losses with araujo injury and nandez is suspend, colombia also already score goals in every match they hv played. like what i hv said before colombia will narrowly edge past uruguay, and face the reigning world champions in the final.
That’s the difference between big teams (Argentina) and small teams (uruguay, colombia and canada). The refs favour big teams. Perhaps one day, maybe in 100 years, your country can be consider a big team and have the refs on their side. Till then you are just gonna have to keep on crying.
Without Brazil n Argentina what is Euro's😂. Saying that Copa is very physical but very hard. Well when Argentina when they r in the SF n Final they r Monsters. Argentina all the way
Anybody have 🇨🇦 futures???? 😊. I do think they can pull the upset. I am hoping we get 🇦🇷 vs 🇨🇴 final. The atmosphere at Hardrock 🏟️ is going to be epic.
