Hello folks, hope you're all doing well! Here's a slightly medicated take on the classic 'Copacabana' by Barry Manilow.
We've been doing this lazy version live for a while now and it's always fun to play.
You might notice that we've omitted the final verse... this isn't for brevity's sake (although it does bring the run time down to something a little neater), but simply the fact that we don't like it very much. It feels cartoonish and tacked-on, as if it was hurriedly added at the last second. Also, getting rid of it preserves a glimmer of hope for poor Lola, allowing her to exist forever in her prime. And they say we're a couple of heartless mercenaries...
This is another one from the glorious New House Farm in the Lake District... Henry the whippet decided to plonk himself down precisely in the middle of our wide shot and demolish a recently stolen slice of pizza. He made it last for the entire three minutes and didn't move an inch. The result is that it looked really weird, so we've masked him out using Premiere Pro's masking feature. There's a couple of shots of him grinning over on our instagram page if you'd like to take a look. He's only a slip of a boy, but he'd tear Snowy to pieces...
In other news, we got a notification yesterday from RU-vid telling us that our channel had just passed 200,000 views, and we wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for that. You can hop over, like, leave a comment and even share videos from a channel, but all The Algorithm really cares about is watch-time.
It's worth remembering this when you're trying to support your fellow artists and creators: maybe don't click on anything that you don't have the time or patience to watch in full, otherwise all RU-vid sees is that the video didn't keep you watching for long enough to make it worth showing that video to others... ironically doing more harm than good the the person you're trying to support.
We're currently working on a new batch of covers which we're hoping to have ready in time for Bandcamp Friday the 6th of May. That's when Bandcamp waives all of it's revenue share for any sales made during that 24 hours (midnight to midnight PST or 8am to 8am GMT).
