This one was a project I really regarded as absolutely hopeless. Even more after I saw the "oil". You really do not run away from challenges. Well done! Your right, it is a funny car to drive to the beach. I hope you will succeed making it roadworthy.
I really like these - they’re like a bigger MX5/Miata really. There’s actually someone in my village who imported a red one! To be fair running one here in the UK from a mechanical perspective is very easy as it’s all the same running gear/tech as the Vauxhall Astra/Vectra etc so parts would never be a problem - only body panels and trim would be an issue but not insurmountable lol. Great video and a huge thumbs up as always to you Al! I love your perseverance and you never give up, saving and using to me is the best thing for the environment too!
The water that came out the engine looked pretty clean, wonder if it was salt water cause maybe it wasn’t and that saved the engine, great video as always have a good one Al
Hey big AL 🙆 appreciate the awesome content. I had my eye on the Saturn sky. The guy sold it 20 minutes after we made a deal over the phone 😔. Win some lose some lol 🎬👍
Al, all your content is fantastic, but i woukd say this tops the list. I thought the Solstice was THE coolest car when they came out. I hope to own one someday.
Your the best car channel I especially liked the S 10 blazer rebuild I watch all your videos keep up the great work saving these cool cars in need of some loving to many people today are in a throw away idea at the first problem a car gives them sad so many cool cars end up at the crusher or wrecking yards way too too soon before there time keep up the great work Big Al a huge thumbs up !!!!!!! and everyone should subscribe and like !!!
I believe you are going to find out that the abs valves are stuck and its just dumping brake pressure. Master cylinders dont usually just fail on both sides. One side yes but not both at the same time unless it sat for 20 years and went dry.
I'm a used car dealer, I once repo'd an Impala that was severely abused, girl wasn't paying for it and took a serious dislike to it. Anyways, about the brakes... she totally wore out the brakes, replaced the pads, and just put the calipers back on with no bolts. The hose got rubbed thru, and she replaced the hose, and she had no pedal. Still had no pedal when I repo'd it. So I replaced the master cylinder, the brake booster, the calipers, and I had no pedal. I bled the brakes over, and over, and over, and over, and still no pedal. So then I used a scan tool to bleed the ABS, and that brought the pedal back to normal. I don't know what it could be with the Soltice, but bleeding the ABS might be necessary, and that may require a scan tool, so fix the OBD2 connector.
Change the brake master cylinder. Sounds like the seals have gone. Master cylinders are cheap so I'd rather put a new one on and 100% eliminate that as a possibility.
Just a hunch since your not hearing anything when you hit the brake pedal I would look up under the dash first to see if anything is broken or disconnected.
I had a car that just suddenly had no brakes come to find out the master cylinder went out. I’d probably start there. Can’t wait to see this thing completely finished. Still have the Astra? How’s it doing? Any videos coming on it?
I know these cars don't get much respect but I've always liked them and would have no problem daily driving this. Really hope it gets the attention it deserves after drowning ....then getting CPR from you and George. You mentioned that you didn't want viewers to get bored of too much content on one vehicle, but I can assure you that it is absolutely infuriating as a viewer to invest so much time watching the weekly progress on a vehicle, only to have it just completely disappear from the channel. (It's happened so many times on other RU-vid vlogs where after following the progress week after week, they get bored, drop it and move on to the next project.)
Actually what I said was the opposite and feel the same way as you, i don’t like to introduce a car to the channel unless I know I’ll be able to follow through with the remaining videos parts of that car promptly.
@bigalsbikeandauto I've seen how you stick with your projects till they're as good as you need them to be. That's why I keep coming back. Cheers from Toronto.
@@enermaxstephens1051 cheap car buyers today have unrealistic expectations and entitlement so they’re not even worth the headache of selling. I just keep them around.
Can say that I do notice when you haven't posted recently . still believe you will be a man that leaves a barn find full of hundreds of running cars when you die . That is not a bad thing .
