Go for the BMW. Look in the trunk. No water inside or on cowl panel means it should be ok. But check the trunk, several modules are located in spare tire area. I work on these cars DAILEY. If no water in trunk it should be good. Also, the neutral is engaged under car, meaning the it will need to be raised and an 8mm bolt on driver side of transmission. Run the bolt out about 5 turns. it will put it back in park.

Hey Randy, I have that EXACT jag except mine is one year newer (and a lot cleaner :-) Really love it, however, I think you'll be able to find something in that sort of "Co-Part-unknown" condition for under 2K - just check OKC craigslist (or even Dallas, etc.). But it's a great driving car, no doubt :-)

The police car was a K-9 unit. It had a special seat fixture in the back for the dogs comfort. They took it out because they're expensive. Probably put it in a new cruiser.

on the doge charger police car and any dodge/ FCA car with the smar key if it don't recognize the key, take the key put it against the start button and push the button with the key should start, thats the bypass if the key is dead

The hot and pop should be what is referred to as a hot dog bail out. If the car gets too hot for the dog then it will pop open the rear door where the dog can escape from the heat building in the car.

Newer BMWs will not shift out of park if car is not running.the will also shift back in park if the door is open. Again, to put in neutral jack car up, driver side of transmission there is a bolt to screening to put in neutral and out to put in drive.

Police cars are driven very rough. Generally beat up. K9 units get very dirty. We detailed ours annually. That stuff in the back seat could have water from the dogs dish that leaked under their k9 platform. The only cars I'd consider would be HP units with all highway miles.

Dude - you know exactly how the bentley got damaged. Those guys with the forks on the tractors are seriously rough with the cars. I watched them drop and push cars at least 5 feet in gear at atlanta west - just grinding the trans. they destroyed the exhaust of the truck i bought

"Twin Power Turbo" is BMW speak for a twin scroll, single turbo. Got one in my daily driver. Not a bad little engine to drive. Don't know how they'll hold up over time.

Those F30 BMW's are sweet cars, but i would advise to stay away from flooded ones. The 4cyl engines are better than they used too, with the one in the 320i making about 180hp. But i would advice in favor of getting a 328i or 330i, that bump the output (On the same engine but with a different tune) to 245 or 252 in the later. As for the transmission, the release to change the transmission into neutral if the battery is dead, is a bolt under the transmission. My bess guess is that they had to move the car and never screwed it back in.

I think the trans got wet, it burned out the modules to shift it into park.
