Randy: "I'm looking for an easy flip." Also Randy: "let's see this SRX with a Northstar and ooohhh, a Land Rover Discovery" Hahahahahaha Love the content! Keep it coming!
Land rover disco suspension only works with hood and doors closed just for future reference.. if you come across a TD5 version, that's the one to get, that engine is the best one produced, by BMW when they owned it for a time..
The TD5s were not sold in the US market. They are genuine Land Rover engines. They have nothing in common with BMW, even the ones produced while under BMW ownership.
MAS Audio Actually I’m in Brazil. I had some Defenders (TDi, TD5 and Puma). My favorite one was the TD5. Really regret selling it. Than I change my off-road toy to a Discovery 1 with a V8. And I love it. As capable off-road as the Defenders (they are practically the same chassi, plus mine is very well equipped with lift, mud tires, steel bumpers, winch, snorkel and much more) and yet very comfortable for a city use. But as a daily I use a Range Rover Sport. Yeah I do suffer from a Land Rover Virus 🤣🤣
That Discovery 2 stands proudly with it’s fame. The 3 amigos, electrical problems and rear airbags deflated. A full Land Rover Experience. The high/low gear level is a bit hard to be moved. Take the car to up to 3/5 miles, put it in neutral and move the lever. Stay away Randy, LR2 are for connoceurs.
I can't believe I am saying this but I hope you save that Land Rover Discovery. I think it'll clean up nice and it deserves a 2nd chance. I'm guessing one of the prior owner's kids or grandkids put the rock in the tailpipe. While I'd never trust a Land Rover enough to own one, I have always loved how these looked and have had a soft spot for them . They really are cool SUVs.
brian5o I agree, I get annoyed when everyone says run from these and most of European cars but they make the best content compared to the ones that everyone wants him to buy
BIGBOB 1013 my brothers 06 Range Rover Westminster supercharged has 256k miles and still drives great. Only major services where timing chain and air suspension. You probably never owned one so you don’t understand. If you don’t believe me I’ll post it on my Instagram @ Subi_buildz.
It's Ders Mane well I’m pretty sure a timing chain needs to be changed 200k even on any car. If you knew your stuff a chain can stretch over time like a belt. It wasn’t the chain that failed it was the guides. The compressor for the suspension is original it’s the air bag that got weak. You could replace them with springs but we need the suspension adjustability sometimes. What also says much is you never owned a Range Rover people like you are the reason why 06-2010 range rovers get such bad rep. Those years are the best years. Buy one with the jaguar or ford engine. Think of it like an ls. They are pretty similar. Before you go out saying some bs get a professional to tell you straight. Any rover under 2005 is garbage because of the bmw engine and any rover from 2011-present are made cheap. People who do maintenance on time will get better results and don’t stick with dealer services because it’s garbage. Go to a forms. This is coming from a person who owns a Subaru and doesn’t work on range rovers that much.
Hi Jessica👋 Caught a glimpse of you in the video. Hey Randy, looking forward to your explanation for moving especially out of state. I thought you were excited about AAR headquarters! Oh well, waiting to hear your story!
Randy ... beautiful house . I think if you like flooded cars and fix them so if you can do that you can fix the house... you can do this.. hang in there randy .. alot of good has happen to you than bad.. you and your family is healthy .. love the videos....AWESOME
And they are not extras. They came standard in the LR2. 🤣🤣 Plus the bad rear suspension air bags and some electrical problems. Just an old Landy being itself.
I have a Land Rover lr3 08" great car, and still runs great, the only major issue is a air pump replace. Very easily done. With these cars, it just depends on the model year you get them.
Rarely even cleans them. Washes them and maybe a buff. I know it looks suspect, but cleaning the god damn engine would be another thing. Some people want an entire car thats clean... A dirty engine is an unhappy engine.
Randy been a subscriber a long time in my opinion you have worked so hard to get things right in Oklahoma ,dealer license the other house your friends why leave the state you seem to have a good thing going if you have personal reason to move than only you can make that decision but remember the grass is never greener I am not a young guy so I speak from experience just think long and hard I wish you all the best . BK in CT
Hi Randy, I've been watching for some time, and have been wishing for a long time for someone like you to be located in The Charlotte, NC area. I live only about 20 miles from Charlotte and I am in South Carolina. We have several Copart's and IAA's in and round the area. The entire area is growing leaps and bounds, the weather and the taxes in south Carolina are wonderful.
The Range Rover is a diamond in the Rough randy that soot maybe a buildup of other people starting it with the stone in. It’s will clean up maaco paint job and a clean good as new
By the mid 2000s Cadillac had the headbolt issue on the northstar sorted, and some people were saying that the rwd ones were different and didn't had head issues
As of 12:43 I’d go for the Cadilliac or the Pontiac. I like the North Star. My great aunt has a 2002 Seville SLS that my aunt and uncle bought and drove for a couple of years until the transmission started having issues with overdrive and I sold it to my neighbor with 93,000 miles and all the gaskets in the engine had been done as preventative measure sold for $1,300. The transmission cost my neighbor $1,300 for a used one with 60K miles. The northstar is a good running/driving engine.
Hi Randy. I am confused. You spent so much money on the house at the car lot and all the trouble to get a license. I am anxious to know why would want to move.
Just because a car has a tow hook on it doesn't mean the transmission has been disabled. All it means is the car was the car was towed and the tow hook was used to hook to the winch versus being hooked under the car. The only time they disabled the transmission is if they don't have the key and they disabled it instead of dragging the car onto the bed of the truck
Try buying the lot where the old trailer was on. I don't know if you can but if possible burn everything then level the area and build a three bedroom two bath house. And a shop.
Randy you have your family to think about (first and foremost) your new business, your owned house, how hard is it for you to move to another state get a wholesale or retail dealers license a house a place to do your business ect. What makes more sense to YOU ?
Randy, did you notice the new license plate on the dash of the Land Rover? It does look like the car had been sitting somewhere for a long time, so that begs the question why it would have a new license plate on the dash.
I plan to bid on a copart car that has a clean title in Texas tomorrow. I just realized I need a broker since it is a clean title auction. Can you recommend any brokers in Texas or are they all the same? Also if I don’t win the auction do I loose money if I hired a broker?
You pretty much have to be an enthusiast to own an older Land Rover, willing to do your own wrenching. I still have a '64 that I rebuilt on a new frame and I used to have a '95 Discovery.
@@paulog8813 - hey Paulo - yep, when you get a Disco dialed in and running well, they're friggin tanks. My '64 SIIA can be taken apart to the frame on a Saturday afternoon with hand tools. And beer. Beer helps. :P
Wes Harris I love the Land Rover world. Between us enthusiasts, with keep complaining about its many flaws and in the forums the same. We became family friends with the mechanic of our cars. But at the moment someone from out of our universe say something bad about our English mistresses, even if deep in our souls we know it’s true, we scream an defend our toys 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That discovery is a money maker all day long I’ve had 6 of them and love them they give no trouble at all and I was getting 19mpg out of my 4.0 v8 one sad I sold it 2004 with only 53k from new
The d2 is a Land Rover design not a bmw design I specialize in land rovers over a year I might have one in for work but yet the d3/d4 I would have at least 40of them in a year for work!!!!
I think it is because people are holding onto their vehicles a lot longer, and aren't buying new every year or two. It does appear the quality of vehicles has gone down considerably in the past few years. I've heard of one recall after another for some of the simplest things that should have been caught by a competent quality assurance or their engineering and product development departments. I am a retired quality assurance auditor with 10 years in the railroad industry, and I have studied the transportation industry in great detail over the past 35 to 40 years. One of my specialties was in-process auditing, sampling, and precision gauging. I was a member of ASQ, which is short for the American Society of Quality. It is a society of quality engineers, managers, and auditors. We would have lectures, symposiums, and team quality building projects where we would perform analysis on different processes.
6:30 I noticed the parking brake light was on and it obviously wasn't engaged. This happens when it runs too low on brake fluid. It's sad to see a nice vic go.
The cost of living in Oklahoma is great. Be very careful about the coastal states. It can be a huge wake-up call and potential disaster when you find your regular income doesn't go nearly as far in the new state as your old one. Just taxes alone (state, property, sales taxes, tax on gasoline) can be really bad in some states.
Literally love your content.... I’m thinking about buying a Land Rover or Jeep Wrangler from an auto auction and get it fixed up please let me know witch one you think is the better choice
I know there’s a lot of people on here about cars. So I’ve just got a new motor put in and about 3 days later the oil light was ringing and wouldn’t go off even when I put new oil in. So took it back and they say they fixed it. Now going down the road the car just shaking and can feel the gas pedal shaking. Someone said a motor mount ? How should I go about solving this ?
Randy you getting TK’s bad habits LOL. Starting the car without first checking the engine and fluids? You always use to check the engine and fluids first what’s up?
i would still love to see the audi on the channel as a long term project the suspension might need a new battery since the compressor is electric and needs good battery to be operational and the engine might need a tuneup & some cheap sensor to be replaced
Randy I think you should get the Pontiac g 6 it's nice car power steering can be fixed it would be a good flip car so Randy don't walk away from that g 6 it's so clean thank you Brian from michigan
Yeah Randy !! Range Rover might not be good Ideal LOL. Call hoovie & he will show ya, how to give it a good burial in the backyard 🤣 Salute brother ! blessing's & best of luck on your move 💯😎
My grandmother had an 08HHR in the power steering went out come to find out if we caught a lot of GM products from like 06 2010 have a power steering recall
@@James01520 he had to have a location dedicated as a hq to get the dealership approved so hes using it as such , which is why he's looking for another house and not using that one
