It wasn't that way when it was wrecked when they cut the pillars the roof collapse down I think the roof was a little higher up

I just joined COPART yesterday. I looked at some of the "salvage" vehicles here in Edmonton, Alberta. SOME are just a very minor scratch on the body. It is UNBELIEVABLE how some of the vehicles are in mint type(no rust/scratches) condition with almost no damage.

Those smart cars actually do VERY well in accidents. The passenger compartment stands up to side and head-on collisions better than most.

The Ranger & the Tundra were the best vehicles in this video in my opinion. Both of which will provide reliable service for years to come.

Those Smart cars are brilliant fun to drive, I drove one from Edinburgh to Stratford upon Avon and never dropped below 80. Comfortable too!

The Impala was also used as a rescue training car, that's why it looks so bad.

I had a 2012 smart car. You have to have battery power to open the rear hatch. Put your fingers under the lip and there's two little buttons. They are very fun to drive

I laughed at the Smart car bit. In some cases it doesn't take much to total out a car. My buddy had a 07 or 08 Acura TL. He was rear ended and his rear bumper has scuff marks and the trim under the rear bumper was falling off. I'd say it looked similar to the rear of the smart car. The TL was about 8-10 years old at the time of the accident. Insurance company marked it off as totaled, even though it was in great condition for its age. He misses that car so much.

Randy, On that silver Impala, you're forgetting that the roof is not sitting where it was before it was cut off the car. It was thrown back on top, and you'll see that the pillars are not lining up. It took some damage, but it's currently sitting several inches lower than it would have been after the collision. That car took a lot of damage. To me, it looks like it's been subjected to quite a bit. With that level of damage, I think you'd be looking at a significant collision with a semi or similar. However, I'm finding it hard to believe that they would have to cut the roof off in that situation. I'm guessing this car was probably used for training and then scrapped. It would have mannequins in it so the SRS system would be active (provided it had battery power). I'm wondering if that isn't the case here. It may, or may not, be an accurate conclusion, It's a lot happier thought than the alternative, though.

The blue Ranger would make a great flip, but looking at the state of the front tyre I would bet there is going to be suspension damage on that corner. The white Toyota Tundra, to me, has the feeling of a truck that was with its owner for a long time. I suspect they had some nice alloys on it with good tyres, which they took off and put the original steel wheels and tired tyres back on when it got written off. It could be a safe bet, but the price does seem rather nuts...

Those trucks have a steering angle sensors which one there's a malfunction set set code on the dash

Randy you have many good things going on regarding your videos. Spending 4:30 on a crashed Impala is not one of them. I'm not checking in everyday anymore because what drew me to your videos was you fixing things and rebuilding. Here's my suggestion: how about you do Co-Part walk-arounds when you are in the market for a project. Meanwhile work on a project. Or spin off the walk-arounds to your brother and you stick to fixing things. To make it more interesting you can say that your brother was adopted (sort of like what a sit-com use to do to get one more season out it.) Now I realize that you may be getting just as many viewers by walking around and talking about a crashed car as you would putting in the hard work of swapping out an engine, and so you may be swayed to gab and gab and gab about the crashed car. . . .but my prediction on this is that your viewership will dwindle as there are more and more incredible folks putting out great videos on fixing and rebuilding etc in no nonsense approaches that I think appeal to your market. This is why I watched your videos in the first place. Or you could put out two shows so that I can just tune into to you working on things. . .which is gold. You working on cars is generally funny, very entertaining and educational. Unlike "This Old House" with Bob Villa, you don't have the most up-to-date tools and so you make do with what a regular fella probably has or can easily get. I gave up on This Old House when Villa after completing the project talked about how one would need a titanium dado blade to turn a industrial Delta table saw into a rotor. $5000 later. Had he gone to Harbor Freight I would have found it so much more interesting. You are the Harbor Freight King. Don't lose sight on why folks are here. Don't chase viewer numbers. If the content is good. . .the viewers will come. I am a huge fan at the end of the day. You are our out there doing and that's what its all about at the end of the day.

The pillars were cut in the first car...and the roof is sitting a lot lower than it was right after the accident. It probably didn't look as bad...well, it looked bad, but not as bad as it looks once the jaws of life get used on a car.

The panels on the Smart Car are swappable. You can change the color of the car in about an hour. Mileage suck for such a small car. Should be 50, but I believe that people said they get 30-38.

My cousin crashed his ranger 01 a few months back

The 2019 Infiniti Q50 3 litre twin turbo would be quite a project, because the driver side body frame is badly twisted and may not respond well to a frame machine. Both doors are misaligned. Installing a new side frame (including A and B pillars) is usually feasible only if If the rear quarter is correctly aligned, and might be possible with the skills of Arthur Tussik, but only makes sense if the car is available at a bargain purchase price, and if Infiniti will actually sell you a side frame, doors, rocker and other necessary parts from this new model.
