Cute card. Wellies, ie Wellington boots originate in The UK. I believe they got their name from the Duke Of Wellington, Horatio Nelson ((the same person who Beef Wellington and Wellington, New Zealand is named for), who is famous for leading several successful military campaigns including, the Battle of Waterloo and the the battle of Trafalgar during the Neopoleonic Wars in the early 19th century. The boots that he wore were his favorite and as the saying goes , the rest is history literally and figuratively. 😀😁🥾. Wellies are used in everyday life in the UK, as gardening boots, military footwear, rain boots, etc
