Maybe try making your sprue up from the face of the key in the bow, so you're pouring into a funnel in the SAND, and not through a hole in a piece of wood. The wood's got too much rough surface, and the surface tension of the metal isn't breaking and pouring into the mould. Also, the wood-gas generating where the molten metal hits the wood tends to cool the metal too fast, then a plug forms. So make the sprue off the face of the key in the bow, where you'd hold it and pour into the mould there. You can make a gas exhaust hole near the tip of the key, and that'll help the metal flow all the way into the mould. You can clip off any metal that flows into the exhaust hole later.
I didn't even notice you did this. Right on. Here's a little backstory on those keys. I was just walking on the sidewalk, minding my own business, and before my eyes, there was a set of busted up keys that were next to a trashcan. They could have belonged to someone, but by the looks of them, it seemed like they have been through the weather. Picked them up and mailed them to you, since they didn't have an apparent owner, and they were going to be thrown away anyways, being partially buried in the ground.
