Wow, I've learned more from your video about copper solder than anything out there. Thank you for sharing your knowledge . You my lady are an excellent teacher.
Thankyou Oksana. I am just starting to develop an interest with copper jewellery. Your artistic eye is very good. I love the free flowing lines of this pendant as well as the use of several guages of wire, the single copper bead and the cabouchon. Particularly helpful to a beginner like me was the list of tools and materials at the start of the video. You are an excellent teacher because you take away the mystery of the processes. I wish you every success.
So happy that I found your channel. I have c recently decided to start working with copper to make jewelry, instead of just beads and threads and such. This video really helped me to understand the different steps, tools, techniques, ect. Thank you. Oh, the pendant is absolutely beautiful!
I love it when you offer us a glimpse into your wonderful artistic mind through tutorials. You are so generous to do this! I would love to see a cabochon focused pendant with wire work (maybe with a medium to large sized cabochon). I would also love to see a wire work bracelet with a cabochon focal. I can't solder but I normally can use small wire to make the connections instead but if you would be willing to show one or both of these ideas without solder that would be great too. Thank you so much for be willing to share with us your talent!
Many thanks for your good review! It means a lot for me! Yes, I'm going to continue making video tutorials. But now I have a lot of jewelry tutorials without soldering in my Etsy shop. Hope you find something interesting for you. :)
Copper solder seems to melt much faster than silver. I am excited to learn I can use my butane torch. Have you used a nylon or rawhide mallet (hammer) to work harden the wire? It will not leave marks.
Thank you so much for the tutorial, learned so much ! :) I was wondering if the metal lacquer is also a way to keep the metal from rusting? I was going to buy an anti-tarnish cream but if the metal lacquer helps it keep the shine and not tarnish then will stick with that! Thanks for the info !
Hi ! I watch your videos a lot and your jewelry is all more beautiful than the others! I use the wire wrap technique but I would like to increase my field of creation thanks to welding, except, I can't find how to weld except with silver paste, but inevitably there will be a difference in color. What do you use to solder your bail and the wires between them? Thank you for your reply ! :)
Thank you! :) I use copper phosphorus solder this one www.etsy.com/listing/702950865/thin-copper-wire-solder-18ga-square?ref=shop_home_active_3 And copper soldering paste like this www.etsy.com/listing/193364052
@@OksanaTrukhan Oh thank you for your response ♥ So basically, you just have to put one or the other and the torch driver ? Sorry for my english, I'm French ^^"
@@OksanaTrukhan Thanks again for your reply, I've been looking for months and I couldn't find anything at all to braze copper! However, I would have a question (to which I cannot find an answer either), for silver, there are different kinds of solder (easy, medium and hard), but what about copper? I can't find anyone talking about it. Can you help me? Thanks again ♥
Hi Oksana, so thrilled to have found your channel! I have been struggling with soldering copper, using paste... it just doesn't seem to stick! You make it look so easy! Couple of questions... you don't appear to clean the copper before soldering and it seems you don't use flux? I thought you always had to clean first and use flux to make the soldering stick.
