Copper to Reach $9,500 Per Ton

Robert Friedland, Ivanhoe Mines Founder and Executive Co-Chairman, told Katie Greifeld he believes copper will reach $9,500 per ton before eventually dropping. Friedland said this Tuesday morning on "Bloomberg Markets."

Why does she keep saying $83,000? One slip OK. Friedland keeps saying the correct numbers like $9,500, $15,000. She must not be listening to him.

It is also used extensively in telecommunications facilities. Where I retired from we had DC power cables with at least a dozen negative and positive cables that were 600m. There was tons of copper and it was added every year. 30 years ago I worked at one of the biggest overseas mines in Indonesia for 8 months overseeing network installation and turn up.

what is the E.S.G. of a Coppermine or any open pit mine, Don’t you still need dynamite and heavy equipment that is powered by diesel engines somehow someway.

The EV transition is a boondoggle bust for lots of reasons -one of which is because there is not enough cheap copper. Certainly not green copper.

Impressively sharp for his age. Something about him though, I can't put a finger on it, but I don't trust him. He's likely correct on everything he's shared. Maybe because he looks and acts too much like Michael Douglas from the "Wall Street" movie.

I consider Mr Friedland to be the greatest mining entrepreneur/ promoter since Cecil John Rhodes. However, when he starts spouting about metal prices and forecasting, you really have to switch off and understand that this guy is just selling his own stock. Switch off.
