Cops Are Involved In This $10 Abandoned Storage Unit | Can't Believe What I Found! 

I’m so nosy, I’d probably be there forever reading the papers that the police want lol

I am retired now but worked for Public Health. We has a top researcher from the U of Minnesota talk to our staff about bed bugs. You can Goggle them and find a lot of info. With what you do, you should definitely read about them. You can wash quilts etc. but that doesn’t kill them. It’s the heat in the dryer that does. If I came across in, the item or items would directly into the garbage. When I get home, I’d take my clothes off in my garage and toss them or put them directly in the washer. Then I’d head for the shower. Them eggs are very sticky and they stick to your clothes and you can’t even see them. It can cost thousands to get them out of your house. We had staff who had to throw away sofas, mattresses, etc. Be careful kiddo. Even when it comes in the mail. You shouldn’t wear black or sit on the floor. Please read about them. Once you have them it’s to late. Very very difficult to get rid of. Exterminator try but they really can’t get rid of them either. The chemical used to get rid of them was outlawed years ago.

Melissa any type on material or cloth items will have bedbugs in it if they are present...it is not only a bedding problem but a whole house problem.,they will live behind your door framing and baseboards ..when the exterminate for them the tent the whole house and bring it to an unbelievable high heat to kill the bugs off.....also any box you buy off Poshmark could carry them

Melissa check with your local Animal shelters and wild life Rehabilitatiors and give them the blankets and old towels. You would be surprised at all the things they could use. ...I love love love your videos!

Former hotel housekeeper here. Bedbugs could just as easily be under the flap of the cardboard box or in a sneaker.Cannot be careful enough.

One thing you could do is take all the stuff to a laundromat and wash it before you even think about taking it into your house. There are chemicals you can get and use that will help. Plus, the laundromat will have bigger sized washers if you do ever want to wash any of the bedding. Yes, you will be spending some money, but better to be safe. ☺️

Wash the smaller blankets and donate them to a local dog shelter. My local shelter loves them and old towels.

I totally understand your fear of bringing bedbugs home, so keep in mind that the clothing is just as likely to harbor them as the blankets.

Depending on how bad things are “pilled” sometimes you might find a treasure under all that pilling…my sister was a de-piller and end up with some beautiful sweaters🤷🏼‍♀️

The blankets would be great to wash and donate. Shelters, human and animal, are always in need of them.

Not just the comforter can have bedbugs, the clothes to! Just wash affected bedding and clothing on a hot wash (60C) and tumble dry on a hot setting for at least 30 minutes. put affected clothing and bedding in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for 3 or 4 days.

Take the blankets to the laundromat, and wash them in hot water in the big washer. Dry them and see what you think. Or donate them to a charity shop.

Bed hugs are not just on blankets and yes please please please donate things the best places to donate is a community/resource center. Also dog shelter/rescues can always use blankets and towels

A lot of business that still use a cash register usually use a bill counter to manage the money in the tills. I used to have to do it for a pet shop manually it was annoying to recount when you lose your place count.

Melissa I am a former Property manager (apartments) unfortunately I have had some run in with bed bugs with my poor tenants. I hate to tell you that those horrible bugs get into every thing. They may start out in a bed or clothing ( They are wonderful hitch hikers) but also in furniture, including wood, appliances nothing is safe from those evil booger’s! They like to live around their food source and hide in what ever is near like clothing , mattress, bedding , paper items. They can live for a long time without food, warmth. They are hard to get rid of too. Ewww I feel itchy just talking about it. Sorry to tell you if those blankets had a bed bug so would everything else in storage with them and possibly the neighbors lockers too. love your vids❤

These are fun!! They say start small and work your way up. You did great for a $10.00 unit! I was thinking also it might be time to rent a small storage unit. Not tiny but maybe along the size of what you just cleaned out. Might help you keep your sanity also without the stuff in your house. I hate to see you pass up good stuff due to the lack of space. Shop around and find what is best for you for size and the wallet! Have to still make money!! Love your adventures!!

Just a word of caution for you. Please buy some heavy duty work gloves or nitrile work gloves for unboxing storage units. There could be all sorts of dangerous things to cut your hands on. Also, that Iaxative powder you found is used to cut powder cocaine and other drugs. And yes bedbugs aren't just in bedding. Bag up that stuff immediately and never bring it in your house! Wash whatever you wear and take a shower as soon as you get home! Be safe💞

Maybe you can take the blankets to the laundromat. Wash everything on hot. The dryers there are super hot, so maybe some of the stains will come out and the "bed bugs" will be killed. Then you won't feel so bad about donating stuff.
