My name is Stephen and I use to struggle with addiction. I am homeless. I live in South Texas. I am disabled and it's hard to find work that I am skilled at and get paid cash. I have been in recovery for 4 years. My life has gotten better.
Proud of you,our son has been in recovery for a year. Hard to know how to help, but we stayed with him and he got involved all associations out there to help to help get sober. Hope your family is involved since you are 4 years sober
There are apps that let you work and get paid the same day. They send you cash to a prepay card. Fast food restaurants do this pay system as well. It's not skilled but it is income. One step at a time. Once your employed it's easier to get other better jobs.
If that guy who owns this business is so worried about drug addict, homeless and prostitutes being on his property then why isn't there any LIGHTS ON THE SIDE OF HIS BUILDINGS?? PUT UP SOME POWERFUL BRIGHT MOTION DETECTOR LIGHTS ON THE BACK OF YOUR BUILDING!! Evil happens in the dark NOT A BRIGHTLY LIT PROPERTY. He has to ask himself if a little money spent on PREVENTION could help deter this from happening again. And he really NEEDS TO KEEP IT MOWED AND CUT BACK. Instead of DEPENDING ON SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT FOR HIM WHEN IT'S TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL. BE GRATEFUL THAT THAT $$$$ JOB WAS DONE FOR FREE!!!!! Big ❤️ HEART,GREAT JOB ERIK & FRIENDS!! ❤❤❤
One way to drive out unwanted persons from a area where those types of behaviors are happening is to have a group of recovering alcoholics and drug addicted individuals go up every day and start talking to them about recovery and going to AA & NA meetings . Ya go out in small groups but not alone and offer hot coffee and snacks and try t They will either come to meetings or leave the area because they see you coming again and want no part of it. That usually works to stop that place from being regularly visited. Just drop by a meeting if one group or the other and suggest it’s a good place to try to encourage folks to get clean and sober. That usually works.☺️
The only good thing is: the homeless "forced" the property owners to clean up their neglected mess that was there to begin with. Pay now, or PAY later.
What i love about these videos is. The before and after looks of these places hes does. Keep up the good work for my home state of Michigan my friend! Keep Michigan clean buddy! Your making America great again! LOL
I love the Union Gospel mission for the work they do with the addicted and the homeless get back on their feet. I was never homeless, but definitely addicted. When I started volunteering there, I thought I was different, only to find I was one bad decision away. Graceful
You and the equipment you use are the "TRUTH!" I call the one on this video, Smasher and your other tracker is the "BEAST". Job well done! Thanks for caring for the communities you clean up.😊
I had a couple of homeless squatters camped out in my yard and they made a big mess and they were mentally ill . One even on drugs they destroyed the shed my and my dad built and ruined my dads boat that was his dad's boat i was hit by the man i don't know how to help people who are like that
I live in New Jersey it’s a problem too, people standing on the side of the roads pan handling, with signs saying there homeless with kids to feed and, no job . So the community should help homeless people get a job etc and, turn their lives around. 🎉
Homelessness and addictions are big problems in our troubled world. Sad circumstances. Just a note, I hope everyone is wearing safety glasses. Concerned about sticks popping up in the face. Great job by the way.
Central Florida. Ex southern California. In southern ca, i had squatters keep setting up camp in a portion of my yard that i didn't see easily. It's dry there with dry brush. They had fires and trashed the area. I cleaned out three different areas over a period of time. It has to be done because they dont care. maybe with drugs, they can't care, but they'll set the whole block on fire. Then one encampment was in a ravine and hard rains came and flooded it. I had to remove it. Two weeks later, a homeless woman set up camp in same spot. She refused to leave. I tried to be nice then literally helped her out and sent her on her way. Yes, helped her out means exactly that, nothing else.
Well I have to subscribe today. You are a good man. Thank you for doing this and for the many other people you have helped. It’s nice to hear that someone cares about our homeless. But now they will get even less and be victimized more as time goes on and more people are on the streets. Bless you.
The salvation army can help with addiction and so can some churches I have been sober for almost 9 years in June it will be 9 years. But people would have to want to get clean or sober if not it will not work.
I was homeless for 3 years with my pit bull named faith cuz my own family wouldn’t take me in when I lost my home in 2020 cuz she is a pit bull she unfortunately was put to sleep in2022 at the age of 7 due to health issues but she had a long life she became a mommy and a granny
My daughter and i live in my car. She lost yer job, got put in icu, had emergency surgery, couldn't work for awhile. We are barely making it on my Soc Sec right now. Praying everything turns around soon. Ive been 9n the top and ive been on the bottom. I prefer somewhere inbetween.
Portland, Maine has a huge homeless community that set up encampments around town…many of them are addicts. You are doing a great service for that community ❤
There are gloves of metal for people with vision problems Those may protect you from sharp objects, but maybe not needles which may be small enough to get in spaces.
Well done for the recognition of the plight of far to many folks,it’s tough out on the streets depressing and dangerous in meany ways ,folks walk past and don’t see a human being in need mostly judging and not caring .iv worked in the field with homelessness and all the problems associated with it it’s not fun finding frozen body’s of folks whom you where chatting to the day before or finding them traumatised as a result of being attacked by drunk passers by who think it cool to beat batter and leave bloodied throws less fortunate than themselves.
It's a good piece of kit, that machine, like a mini excavator / lawn mower. All much tidier. I have automatic lights on outside (and someone is always home and I mean ALWAYS) so we never seem to have any trouble here.
Seems like he does big jobs because he has the tracker that mulches @ he seems to take longer to do his jobs but gets more done & less detail work like weed eater etc, ! Thank God for him & the big Guns!
To all who watch this I live in Fremantle Western Australia 🇦🇺 there are places that the homeless people go to even if you are on benefits they help you with your housing situation or food or even a shower and coffee tea and breakfast and lunch then at night some places even get other people dropping off food for the homeless they also try and help with your drug and alcohol situation and try and get you to turn your life around but a lot of people here don’t want to change they beg for people to give them change for their habits I sing ina choir I once was homeless now I live looking after my mum and stepdad place
We have a very large homeless population that is getting worse up here in Traverse City Michigan. They call it the pines their is a lot of stabbings and a couple of fires. It is really sad to see these people not getting the help that they truly do need.
I live in the streets but don't like drugs can't stand people that do them. Keep your spot clean and you can at spots a lot longer when they don't know your there
I'm struggling I'm almost homeless I live north of Houston. I currently live in an unsafe environment..I do NOT have any addictions. It's hard to find decent paying jobs even in the field I've worked for the majority of my life. Nobody hires me bc I'm 52 like being 52 means you can't be a bartender?? I'm still cute, in shape etc. I'm 1 paycheck from living in my car. 1 bedroom apartment around here at 512sq ft is 1200/mo. 😮 When that's 75% of my pay ATM.... Something needs to improve or America is going to have a lot more addiction and suicides
That machine is wicked but dangerous. I'm surprised it does not come with a type of shield to protect you from flying debris. Sunglasses or goggles won't help much. At least you don't have to look back to do your work like the other machine.
I see a lot of big piles and items in the trees. They look like the owners put them there. If a lot is already overgrown and has random stuff on it it the I can imagine homeless people might see it as abandoned and safe. A lot of homeless are just looking to find a safe place.
We have an abandoned former shopping center .that is in bad shape structure wise, the city knows it being used by addicts ,etc .But only seem to in a go around and around with the property owners .that let it get in this state of decay .
the squatters weren't resonsible for the brush, grass and weeds growing on the property! instead of hate and threats why can't housing be found for these poor people? other communities have solutions that help them with very small single units to live in, common laundry and shower areas and job leads. do you honestly think these misplaced people chose to live this way?
I truly appreciate whatever you did for the property owner! However, I would not give a stolen credit card to a youth and say, “try it.” It opens the door to try to find “ free” easy money.
Keep in mind that the "authority" also CREATES these situations in order to sway public opinion. Problem - Reaction - Solution. Ordo Ab Chao. I'm not saying that's what happened here, but the nefarious situation exists. You are shown what you are meant to see.
i was homeless once 8yrs ago and going to be again by October because landlord raised my rent to the point i can no longer afford it, so now myself and my two ESA cats will be back in my car(which is in desperate need of repairas well) for the winter. and i am also disabled with medical issie oon top of it..(i have been searching, asked state for help an dnothing.. I only get 967 a month to live on from SSD and state says i do not qualify for housing help(plus theres a 5 yr wait list in my state)
Why doesn’t that land owner put up some lights at night? Security cameras? Or even a camera? But hopefully since you made it bare they wont be back there…..
The owner does not want squatters on his land, if land is vacant it does not mean individuals can just set up camps and tents and move in on them. I feel law enforcement should have made them move. The homeless situation is not the mans problems who owns the land. If you lay in a tent take drugs or drink, how do you feel it is other working adults problem, is it your problem to solve, and work is the best venue, no work, no eat.
For ppl wondering, should I watch this? If you’re like me, then no. I watered at X2 speed, skipped, and I’ll never get that time back. They flatten the brush. The end. You’re welcome, and move along. 😂
This is hardly trashed up a show a purse and bits of trash! You need to go find the really dumps they live on with real trash- needles , bottles, rotting food, excrement- human and animal. This to me look like a piece of ground that the owner hasn’t bothered to keep un control! But I am sure you are doing a good job.
People can be poor but don’t want the homeless to take over their property with trash. A lot are drunk or doing drugs and someone is fighting or burning other people’s property
The only way to stop encampments is to make the area undesirable for people to camp out on by lots of concrete rubble Lots of large rocks and no flat ground to put up a tent or tarp for shelter I you can’t sleep on the ground you won’t be there
