Because the government doesn't need another 9/11 failure . Las Vegas failure where there is so many recordings going against there narrative. That's why it was only on the news for a couple of weeks and so many people are with there heavenly families.
They are a reflection of the people running the department. The citizens that put them in those positions need to learn what their employees are doing. At the next city council, play that video and ask them why their officers are so ignorant of things like the 1st amendment, 4th amendment, 5th amendment, and why they would think it was OK to just walk up to people with cameras and demand answers to questions they have no business asking. The cops are free to observe. They have no duty to interact, nor an obligation to do so.

One of the bigger issues with Police stations nowadays is their "castle" mentality where they think they are under siege by enemies at the gate. Back when I grew up Police stations were open and friendly. Back then my local Police station shared a parking lot with the public library so there was always a mixed of library patron and Police vehicles in the parking lot, no designated parking for either - the good old days.

why did they have to block the sidewalk with their vehicle if at the end he said it was a consensual stop and not and emergence and they just wanted to talk. Why if that was the case did they not park their vehicles legally. There was no emergence, no laws being broken, they could have parked properly and gone and talked... but these cops believe like sovereign citizens believe the laws don't apply to them.
