I’ve tried to follow other tutorials on this binding and they just weren’t clear so I was not successful. Thank you so much for creating a clear and concise video along with written instructions. For beginners like me, I use clothespins to hold previous signatures out of way…🥰 you are a great teacher! You reinforce, speak clearly, and make me want to get back into book making. Just ordered curved needles on Amazon!

Oh man, we pay about 20$ a month to skip the ads. I know it is an added expense but we are a family of 5 and we can all watch RU-vid without ads for that price, on our devices and the tv. It work for our family, because we mostly watch RU-vid as opposed to Netflix or cable or any of the other subscriptions. It’s only when I see comments about ads, that I realize RU-vid videos have them. I don’t think I could watch the videos if I had to see commercials 😢. But then again, I don’t watch regular tv either due to commercials lol.

Thank you ever so much! I KNOW that this will be the perfect binding for the art journals I am creating because the pages lay flat, so that the art pages can be on display and rotated. This would even be good to show the pages of an art journal in a shadow box display, the kind that opens up in the front like a door. Love this video. Appreciate your clarity and lists! One thing though to add is to tell us move away quickly if we stab ourselves w the needle so we dont bleed on our book! Pin stabs create a lot of blood! All over my book! 😅

Wow, this was sooooo hard to do. I combined the hot glue cover and coptic stitch binding. It was my first try on both and it took me 4 times to get the cover on the 1st signature. But now that it's finished it is such a pretty way to bind a journal. Well, spellbook in my case... :)

Thank you for the clear video. I have a little book here I made with the coptic stitch some years ago, but something went wrong with the sewing of the last signature and cover. I'm undoing both now to start with your method. Is it important that you start with the backcover instead of the front ? Why do you start with the back ? Thank you !!

What happens if the signatures are not the same size as the covers? I have bound 5 or 6 wooden books with wood spines but they don't lay flat. I want to try this method but I prefer my signatures to be smaller than the covers. If they are smaller is this a problem?
