Thank you for this information. You have helped me so much on my learning journey. I have a situation where a site document has been shared with me on a sharepoint outside of my organization. I can't seem to get it to show up with the sharepoint connector or the http connector (using get). I think the problem is that I'm not in the right environment, but I don't have the outside environment as an option. Any ideas on how to resolve. I'd am grateful for any help! All I'm trying to do is take the contents from the file (updated daily) and inform CDS entities with the info. If I can't do it with regular Power Automate I'll have to try RPA.

Thanks for the video. As this is a copy will it also handle version control and copy across version history of the documents? I ask because the native copy function in SharePoint online via a browser doesn't support version history, only Move does. Thanks

Is the copy file process essentially the same for OneDrive? I haven’t tried copy file yet but I did try get file content and create file and used it but I’m not sure that the identifier I used for the create file step was correct. I used ID and got inconsistent results for the file that was created.

Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Just one question, can the "Destination Folder" be dynamic, so the user can use folder ID for example?

Thanks for the video. I hit the thumbs up. Do you know any additional steps I can take to ensure that the columns and all the meta data transfer over? I was able to copy the files, but some columns copied over with empty fields. Thank you.

Hi Ali .. great stuff . Do you have any video where you move the files from one sharepoint library to another library along with a nested folder based on the last modified date?
@AlirezaAliabadi

No, use proper tool for that. The best that I know is sharegate

Hello, thank you for this video. I ran the flow to copy from one SharePoint site to a different SharePoint site. The files copied across, but not the additional columns containing metadata. More specifically when I go to modify the current view in destination folder, I don't see those column names where the metadata is supposed to be stored. Please note I did nothing regarding content types, because in the source library it only show the Document content type, same as in the destination library. Did anyone else encounter the same problem?

Great video. Thank you for making it. I need a little help please. I have content types / managed meta data. Using manual trigger, I created a flow to copy a single file from one collection to another. 99% is working. The only part that is not, is that the content types seem to be out of sync. For sake of discussion, it's like the ID's don't align. Generically speaking, It appears on the backend 1 = Document 2 = Picture 3 = Audio. 4 = Tree On the other collection, while the same, the order is different. 1 = Picture 2 = Audio 3 = Tree 4 = Document. . So when the copy completes, all of the meta data is good, however the content type column displays the wrong Content Type. Any suggestions? (PS, I also checked the physical sort order... they are identical as to how they are displayed. Changing has no impact.) In my Get File Properties, it displays the correct ID/Name, but in the update, the ID and name are different. It is off by 1. I've also tried adding a compose, and adding the output, but it spins and spins and times out.

Hi, Can you please tell me how to copy an exe file from one pc to another whilst keeping all it's data? I'm trying to download a Free video editing program from this pc to another that doesn't do internet connection, but when I copy and paste to a flash drive it says " do you want to copy this file without all it's components" which basically means it won't work on the other pc. I figure there must be a way round this? Thanks Gary

Hello the copy file SharePoint connector only created a new file in the destination folder that's why metadata like created would not pick when the file was created

My client has just over 100,000 files. I need to copy them to my Sharepoint library classified by folders. I am working with Power Automate, but I have doubts about its limits. Is this the best option? To copy this large number of files, what do you recommend?
@AlirezaAliabadi
@AlirezaAliabadi Год назад
This is probably the dumbest option to copy files from one location to another. I still don't know who wants to use Power Automate to copy files from one location to another, but I had lots of requests for this video and I did it. The Flow in this video copies maximum 100 files. If you change the pagination settings on "Get Files" action you can increase it to 100,000 files and if you use OData and filter by ID you can read the data in chunks and copy even millions of files. But simply to copy files, forget about this approach and use the proper tool called Sharegate or any other content migration tool.

What if on Lib 1 and Lib 2 you have a column called "Status". How can you also update the new file with the same value the Status column had in Lib 1?
@kevinstill2936

I figured it out. Anybody who is curious add an Update File Properties. For id choose itemID of the Copy File. Then for all the properties make sure the select the properties from the Get files (properties only)

You can use "Get Files - Property Only" on the destination folder and use OData query for the file name.
