Many people aren't sure how to keep their animals warm in winter without burning down the barn or coop. I have house building under my belt so I understand a few things most haven't had experience with. I use a small electric heater to help keep my animals warm enough during the coldest days of winter. One of the most important hings to check is the temperature of your electrical wiring. I use extension cords so it's quite easy for me. When the cords are cool they aren't overloaded. When the cords are hot then you run the risk of fire as the wires are overloaded. Wires are designed to carry a maximum load and if you don't know the formula for determining the load you are putting on it then this method is quick and reliable. A little bit of fire prevention.
