I created a specific logo for my company do I need I also created a new name and a slogan that goes with it. I’ve checked no one has use the word b4 it would be consider a new word do I need to trademark or copyright or do I need to do both ?
Will it be infringement if I have a t-shirt slogan that's the same as a airline slogan ?Two different meanings, and I have art work the airline doesn't!
I believe that, in all honesty, I may need both. As an artist I'm going to need to trademark my logo/image (I've been ripped off a lot as an artist, folks like us creative types tend to lack the where-with-all to protect ourselves legally!) and then copyright my art and cartoon characters so's that I'm covered when it comes to the use of my art and concepts. Great video, I loved the lighting, background, your makeup/styling, the editing and sound quality! Very well done IMHO!
This is the third video I watched on this topic, and the first one that made sense! Thank you for breaking this down in an understandable way! I'll be sure to check out your other videos.
This was amazing! I was blown away by how professional this video was and your beautiful to top it off! Keep it up. With all the gossip and nonsense going on, you are definitely needed on (Black) RU-vid.
This is THE best video I've seen on the topic! I just did a quick search today to get an idea of the distinctions -- and after watching several others (which were ok), you have given me the clearest understanding of each and how to apply this to other questions around the same subject. I LOVE how you flipped the words to describe what they mean -- brilliant! And truly helpful. 😜 Not to mention your video and presentation are fantastic. (Real talk, no fluff ... that's not how I roll.) I look forward to watching your channel take off!! SUBSCRIBED
We went to another channel before and it took forever for that lady to get to the point which took her 18 minutes took you up much fewer than to do the same thing I appreciate that
I am going to take my life savings to do t-shirts cups and anything else I can think of for crypto stuff... I got to design a logo I got a copyright I got to learn everything so I'll be watching you
@@ldman906 whoa whoa don’t use your life savings! I’m going to launch a micro course soon on how to create a merchandise and apparel line with $0 invested upfront. Did you download the freebie on this video so that you’re in my email list? I’ll be emailing out details for the course soon.
God bless you! I love the way you communicate and explain things. This video helped me out sooooo much! Thanks for the inspiration and the information. 🙏🏼🙌🏼👑💪🏼💐
I like your video. You are a great teacher and simplify things well and make them easy to understand. Especially for older people. Not just running off at the mouth to get RU-vid time or Click Bait
This is fantastic information. Thank you soooo much. You broke this down to the simplest understanding. Thank you. I now have a registered trademark. Do you think my company needs to invest in a trademark monitoring service. Recommendation: Can you do a video on “I have a trademark. Now what?”
First off, thank you for your clear and precise explanation; not to mention you’re beautiful . I have a quick question if you have a moment. I have a published book, I have the copyright. I also have images in the book. I’ve decided to maybe put a few images on t-shirts and other items. Would I still need to trademark said images or am I still covered under the copyright laws?
Hi Taren. Thank you for your insight on trademark and copyrighting. I know that I can't have the right to words. but I would like to have rights behind the narratives that I make behind a word. Sometimes I will create a whole culture behind a word with a color, animal symbol, and its own core values. How should I go about owning the rights to the creativity behind the word, so that when I present them to certain places, they won't adjust my creation? I hope all of that makes sense.
So i have an idea for a logo. Its not going to be tied to a business. What would I need to do to protect myself so that it cant be used without me getting some kind of royalties? I plan on marketing swag with the logo design. Im hoping it will get very popular. How do you monitor people not printing it and using it without consent?
Thank you for sharing this short informative video. im excited to download the additional video and learn more. I have just creating my own skin care line. Logo and sub logo. Do you think it is best I copyright, trademark, or both?
*TarenTV* If I created a solutions manual - and sold it - by working some/every problem in some technical book, would that be interpreted as copywrite (or trademark) infringement?
Can I use a word that is trademarked, however, add to that word? for example, the word "Gasparilla" refers to a parade event in Tampa. Can I make a brand called Gasparilla Apparel?
Hey Taren, great information. So (for example) I researched the database and found a trade mark for a logo design with the words "dragon energy" ( think this is an energy drink in the US). Does that mean that mean if I printed a T-Shirt with the same phrase "Dragon Energy" on it with different artwork and font, that I'd be infringing upon the drink company's trade mark, or would it be ok as it's un unrelated industry?

@@TarenTV_ thank you for the information. I'm trying to start my own business and this video is very helpful as I am trying to figure everything out. So thank you again!
Thanks for the video. You confused me a little bit. You said that logos and slogans can be a copyright and a trademark. Is that so? And if branding is a trademark, why are all companies writing at their website bottom "copyright all right reserved"?
Branding is a trademark? I'm not sure that I'm following the question. Branding is the act of creating assets that can be used in a business to help market that business and create an identity in the marketplace. Branding is an action. Trademark is a legal device/tool that business owners use to protect their brand. Is this helpful?
this was very helpful. i created a slogan called shits getting weird part infinity and i have put that on shirts. Do i need to trademark / copyright it ? im a little confused. i was thinking trademark but im not sure.
Depends on the type of protection you are seeking. Copyright is a very different legal device than trademark and both have their unique purpose. Did you download the PDF in the link?? That will help.
I have one question. I pretend to register a trademark. My logo and name of my art store. My question is if that can help to protect better the copyright of the genenal art works that I sell on my store, or I need to register each and every piece of art I'll make
Just subscribed have a question my friend wants to know if you can trademark something like this S.Save O.Our P.Planet Can I trademark something like this and put it on teeshirts? Ans if I can shoot me the link to do it thanks
Omg thank you!! Question.. what happens if you’re trying to TM a brand name that’s close to something that’s similar to an existing mark within your industry? I was told that my mark has a high risk of being denied.
First OF ALL.. you are absolutely beautiful I watch multiple videos broke it down self-explanatory I learned a lot from this video and also I want to ask you a couple of questions how can I reach you?
Ms.Taren, May God the father and The Lord Jesus Christ bless your soul and spirit…. I needed this video so much sister. I thank you so much. For real , for real. May God bless you, In Jesus Name, Amen.
@@TarenTV_ I want to be able to sell my stuffed animals without people trying to steal the logo or design of the characters. Just like how stuffed animals are in stores
What if someone tried to trademark "Star Wars Automotive Repairs and Services"? Would Disneyfilm summon their lawyer army? Also, if copyrights are automatically protected upon creation, what's to prevent Disneyfilm's Lawyer Army from trying to stomp a rights holder in bankrupt submission? Disneyfilm wouldn't win (allegedly), but they can use their bottomless coffers to eventually ruin another's livelyhood.
it depends on your overall goal -- if you want to control who can reproduce/edit/reprint the art/design material behind the brand you may need both :) -- I hope this video was helpful
